Pierre Loti Hotel - Special Class

A boutique hotel in Sultanahmet, conveniently situated two minutes from the tram stop. I found the room lovely and clean, nicely decorated and the bellhop was very sweet. However, this is probably where the pluses stop. I found this to be an issue in all the hotels I stayed in during my Turkish holiday, but the room smelled of stale smoke. Even though the hotel is a non-smoking hotel, it smelled like smoking was previously allowed in there and they just couldn’t get rid of the smell. It was actually so bad, that when I returned home, all my clothes stank of stale smoke, even the ones I hadn’t worn. I was also a bit annoyed at having to change rooms after the first night, without any compensation for the inconvenience, not even a token free drink at the bar. A few other small observations: 1. It took 30 minutes and two calls to reception to get more tea bags. 2. Not all towels are the nice fluffy kind. The first towel change resulted in my nice fluffy towel being replaced by a thinner one, frayed at the edges. 3. There was a cockroach scurrying across the floor at breakfast on one of the days. I was also slightly disappointed in the breakfast (lots of cheeses, bread, cold meats and salad vegetables, plus eggs, sausages and some form of potato for the hot food), but I guess that is just my palate not used to traditional Turkish breakfast fare.

My 6th trip to istanbul and 4th different hotel . I would pass by and decided to try and I am truly impressed by the location , cleanliness and comfort of the room. Rooms are modern , comfortable and noise proof . Tea and coffee is provided free and breakfast is outstanding . The manager Yacub went out of his way to check me in as the flight got in late and helped out with some baggage information . Everyone is very polite and friendly . It started to rain and they provided an umbrella as well . I would highly recommend for a budget traveler to stay and experience this property . Everything is within walking distance . The grand bazaar, Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque . The Roof top terrace is very nice as well . The bedroom has very good heating and cooling and excellent sound proof windows . I would highly recommend this hotel .

Came for my honeymoon and it was the best choice to book here. They have a small but welcoming receptionist. Forgotten his name but the person who attended to us on March 6 at about 5PM deserves a promotion. He explained to us all the things we can do and a good timing to visit them so that we can cover more areas. He also offered tour packages to us for consideration, no hard selling. The rooms are clean, and beds comfortable. Heaters work perfectly fine and same for their showers. Separated toilets from shower area, plus point. The hotel itself is conveniently located; in the middle of Sultanahmet and Cemberlitas station, very near one of the many entrance for Grand Bazaar, 5 mins walk to the 4 major tourist attraction; Blue mosque,Topkapi,Hagia sophia and Underground cistern.

Came to Istanbul with my husband and parents. Wasn’t expecting much from the hotel.... however they were just absolutely amazing and the service was fantastic. We had a great relationship with the managers there and not only were they attentive they were hilarious too. Everyday they helped us find the best tour guides and spoke to us about the best places to visit. Every time we were waiting around in reception they offered tea and when we wasn’t happy with the twin room they moved us straight away to a double! The roof top restaurant was fantastic too and the shisha (although expensive but worth the price) was fab!!! I wouldn’t say the breakfast was that amazing... for a 4* restaurant I’d expect a omelette station to be free however we had to pay for that. Apart from that, this hotel made our stay in Istanbul the most memorable stay and the best holiday ever!

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. As first time visitors to Istanbul we were looking for somewhere to stay in a good location close to all the major sites. Pierre Loti Hotel is in a great location with sites such as the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar being within a few minutes walk! On arrival the staff on reception were very welcoming and explained where we were on a map and how to make the most of our short stay! Our room situated on the first floor was quite small, however it was clean and had everything we needed. We only had breakfast a couple of times, however there was a good selection of breads, cheeses, meats and fruit, enough to start us off on our daily travels! We ate in the roof top terrace while we were there, the food was lovely and the staff were attentive, the views over the city were amazing and it was just a nice place to relax at the end of the day! We are looking to return to Istanbul again later in the year and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to our friends! Thank you to everyone at Pierre Loti!

Hotel was above average. Food was pricey for Istanbul standards. However what makes the place is it’s location. It’s in Sultanahmet, so it’s a walking distance to places like the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar! Food around the place is not too bad and you can also can the train + tram here from the airport because it’s less than 5mins from the tram stop.

Perfectly situated between the sultanahment and cemberlintas tram station, minutes away from all the attractions. There are two restaurants here. The rooftop bar have a nice view over the city, the cafe at the ground floor is another good option for a meal or drink. Good ambiance for both restaurants. The room is rather comfortable but the soundproofing is not very good as you can hear voices outside your room. Try not to get a room facing the road side unless you don't mind the noise of the tram. Free Wi-Fi. Good and friendly reception, they will give you Istanbul map and brief you on the tours or routes that you could take. Breakfast is rather Turkish, limited choice so it might not suit everyone taste buds. Overall satisfied.

I choose this hotel simply because its location, close to main attraction of Sultanahmet area, easy accessible to public transport, walking distance to the grand bazaar etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet (ground floor) has excellent choice. Too bad , because I really thought that during the stay we could have the breakfast at the roof top restaurant.

Thanks for a nice stay and a very big thank you to Brother Idris for his amazing customer service skills at the reception. Jazakallah. :) and also to the rest of the staff members. You were very helpful.

We searched for a few days to find a hotel that would tick most of the boxes for a long weekend break to Istanbul, this hotel was our final choice. We booked for four nights and got back this morning. Our room was exactly as expected, small with seperate cubicle shower and toilet and the wash basin on a marble counter in the bedroom. Tea, coffee, fridge safe we all included and the standard of cleanliness in the room was good. The corridors and stairs did need a good clean but the restaurant is what really lets the hotel down. I have sent a seperate detailed email to the hotel with the issues we had, but I will say for the price its good value. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking to enjoy a nice breakfast, but if its purely because of the location then book and have breakfast elsewhere which is what we did after day two. Staff were all pleasant and wanted to please, however I would recommend whoever is responsible for the restaurant to have a read of my email and put some simple hygeine practises into place and the hotel should follow up and make sure they are actually being done. Disappointed....
