Hotel is on perfect location/ close to everything/historical places, a must. Staff there are very friendly and helpful while especially hotel General Manager Mr. Cenap Solakoglu. He will take personal care to be sure that all of the guest are happy. This hotel have high ratings just thanks to hard working people there. Five Stars go to Staffs, /all of them. Hotel is in very good shape, nice and clean. Very safe and secure. Highly recommended.!
Superb small boutique hotel near all the historic sites. What makes the hotel exceptional is its friendly, knowledgeable concierge staff; from check-in to breakfast and assistance with transportation to airport, they handle every contact with guests with the utmost professionalism and kindness that is genuine and welcoming. The support staff in bar, breakfast servers, housekeeping are all well trained and always acknowledge guests with a smile and always offer assistance. My room was perfectly clean and housekeeping was helpful in providing ironing board and iron. Breakfast was delicious: a plate of tomatoes, cucumber and peppers with a side of local cheese and some cold cuts. There was also a buffet with warm pastries, sausage and other continental breakfast items. In addition to this, guests are also offered eggs cooked to their liking...I had menemen every day! The champagne on offer reminds you that you can slow down an truly relax in this oasis. After a day out, it’s lovely to relax on the patio with great bar service. I rose early in mornings to go for a run...after 7am the nearby Gülhane Park is open and provides access to Kennedy Cd where you can run along the Marmara Sea. The hotel is not accessible by taxi, but the staff will gladly meet you or accompany you on your departure to a car they’ve booked.
Directly adjacent to Aya Sophia, opposite the Basilica and near the Topkapi palace, you could not wish for a more convenient hotel for the main sites in Sultanahmet Istanbul! Dispite being on the main road and next to the grand mosques, we were not disturbed by noise in the rooms. The front desk were very helpful and informative and did not push you into any tour or attraction like many other hotels try to do. Excellent breakfasts with a wide range of selections of buffet and a la carte.
This was my first time in Istanbul and I spent 2 nights at this hotel and it was great! The location is amazing, I found it easy to get to using the tram, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful too! I ended up shifting to a different hotel after 2 nights and regretted it. My hotel room had a view of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque (partially blocked by a tree). The soundproofing of the windows is good, so noise from the street won't bother you. I can only think of one complaint, and that was the shower stall. Unfortunately the glass enclosure doesn't wrap around the entire shower base. There's a gap between the glass wall, and when you shower, water goes into the gap and leaks out into the rest of the bathroom. I just plugged it with a towel but it was the only issue I really had.
Staff was helpful, location was great, breakfast was good. I had 1 issue which was the hotels fault. I booked my reservation using TripAdvisor's partner, Cancelon. The booking was botched. The hotel did not have a booking. I spoke with Cancelon twice, and they assured me that a booking had been made. When I asked to speak to a manager I was placed on hold for 15-minutes before I hung-up. Cancelon eventually emailed me and claimed there had been a "web glitch". They refunded my money, but I had to pay more for the room, and last 30 minutes going back and forth on the phone after a long day. It's interesting that from what I can determine there isn't a way to give TripAdvisor feedback. My advice, DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION WITH CANCELON!
The hotel was under the Aya Sophia ,so close to topkapi and the blue mosque and the basilica cistern was across the street. Most sights are within a half hour interesting walk. A good restaurant nearby and many within a short walk , only the Dolmabache palace would need the tram ride. The tram passed the hotel The staff were very friendly and always welcoming . The "continental " breakfast was delicious and filling. We loved our stay there and would go back next week!!
We stayed in this hotel for three nights and will definitely stay in the same hotel if we visit Istanbul again! Everything is in walking distance, you can reach all the famous touristy spots in just a few steps! New and clean room facilitate with great view. Friendly and professional front desk staff makes us feel like home. Especially Kenen, he is extremely thoughtful, he gave us so much useful information and arrange so many things for us before we requested it! Great thanks to all the people who work in Boutique Saint Sophia! You guys are doing a great work :)
really happy with the location of the hotel, right next to Hagia Saint Sophia, I thought the morning call to prayer would bother me but we got used to it rather quickly. annoying part with the location is you cannot get a taxi/uber outside you always need to walk around looking for a street with access. good service, front desk was very helpful and answered my pre-checkin emails very quickly, as well as organized pick up from airport. the only minor disappointments is every day we would have the room cleaned housekeeping wouldn't replace amenities so I would have to call every day for something. Breakfast was good, although I did see the older gentleman waiter pick something out of the pudding with his finger, that put me off. not having room service was little annoying after a full day touring on a cold winters day it would have been nice to order in one night. also the transparent glass in the bathroom is annoying and exposing, i was glad I was with my partner, I wouldn't stay there and share with anyone else. that said good hotel and I would go back, if nothing else for the awesome location.
Its pretty much impossible to find a single fault with this hotel...in fact I cant think of any. Im a regular visitor to Istanbul and Ive stayed all over the town from Taxim to Aksaray and from local 3 star to multi national 5 star hotels and none beat this hotel. Its position is perfect for all the main attractions,in fact the hotel literally backs onto St Sophia. Its also perfectly situated for moving around the extended city area as it sits on the T! tram route. As experienced visitors to this fantastic city will know the tram system is by far the best way to move around the city, forget taxis, traffic slows them to a crawl and they cost, the tram system is modern, frequent(very) and dirt cheap(6 days moving about the city day and night cost me and my wife a total 35 Euros(and remember the tram card includes all trams, buses, ferries, water buses ,underground trains and cable cars !! Still I digress, the hotel rooms are first class, large comfortable and include a safe, fridge, mini bar ,pillow menu and tea/coffee. the bathroom is typical very modern boutique hotel style with walk in shower and stylish wash basin. The staff are excellent, they cant do enough to help, day and night.they go that extra mile to make the stay relaxing like checking in your return flight for you, calling your taxi to the airport an hour before they are due to check they will arrive on time, they are pleasant and speak perfect English. There is a bar and restaurant but I did not have cause to use either except for the included breakfast. The breakfast was a very pleasant surprise,on coming down the first morning I found the usual continental style items plus the expected Turkish items like fresh yogurt and honey and various cakes, there were a couple of Turkish hot items and I thought ,well thats not to bad,but then it really took off, each table gets a huge plate of mixed cheeses, dried fruits, and cold meats just for you ,then they ask what kind of omelette would you like, cooked to order. There is even chilled Prosecco freely. available.. Most rooms have a good view and are surprisingly quiet at night (bearing in mind there will be the timed calls to prayer trumpeted from every mosque in the city, but this part of the charm of this city and is unavoidable anywhere in town). A small plus ,but one many hotels fall down on is the room lighting, there are options from reading lights to full room light and hidden lighting to subdued back light,I found this a nice touch, and bear in mind we didnt have the top of the range room class. Bottom line, would I stay there again? well to be honest,I wouldn't stay anywhere else now Ive found this hotel!!
We went to Istanbul for a short stay. And we stayed at saint Sophia hotel.. The service we received was excellent specially from Nebi he was very polite had a very good customer understanding.. It is located in the heart of all attraction just walks away.. How ever I would like the management to make some changes with their bathroom. As it was very uncomfortable and had no privacy.. It had a glass sliding door which was noticeable from outside.. Otherwise everything was perfect.
