Loved the size of the room, it was very large and spacious. Older hotel so it does not have modern furnishings. They should provide free of charge firewood for the wood fireplaces, that would be very nice. The rooms with fireplaces do smell like a fire.

The staff was awesome!! The room was a little dated, but very comfortable. I loved the view from the balconey and the fire place. I loom forward to our next trip and plan to stay with them again.

Nice older hotel in downtown Gatlinburg. Everything was very clean! The only complaints I had was that the room was ice cold when we arrived and the bed was severely uncomfortable. Besides those two things, it was very nice.

hotel was filthy.. it's not a resort unfriendly staff, no room service .. unclean rooms breakfast was supposed to be between 8 -10 am .. but got over by 9:20

Staff is very helpful to provide solution to check us in earlier when we arrived.

Hotel was very good once inside the rooms, but outside walkway, elevator and landing need sprucing up and cleanes. Creekside great.

Very friendly check in experience. Loved the brook sounds while sitting on the private deck. Basic breakfast but was good to get us going. Having a hot tub to soak in after driving many hours was excellent. Met nice people there, some evacuated from Hurricane Irma so interesting conversations. Our room was in an older section but kept up very nice. Never had any noise from neighbors, although we had neighbors so it must be built well. Great parking on site. Felt comfortable walking at night to various restaurants. Wine tasting right across the street so don't miss that! We did ask the front desk lady on Sunday to have a bulb replaced in the hallway, which was quite dark without, and also asked for another garbage can as we only had one small one. We never did get either request granted, unfortunately. We had to take our own garbage out as we never had maid service. Didn't need the room cleaned or change towels/bedding, but emptying our garbage would have been nice. Although by emptying our own garbage, we did see a bear!

Wonderful we loved it. The rooms was very clean. Along with wonderful staff and excellent prices.

Good location out of the main drag of town,but close enough to walk if you wanted.Rooms were clean hotel staff friendly,just needs improvement on the breakfast I would recommend eating out.

The only good thing about this resort was the staff, location and the river below our balcony. . We were put in a section that is old and needs remodeling. Mattress was horribly uncomfortable and the breakfast was terrible.

We had a terrible experience with this hotel this weekend. They not honor our orbitz reservation despite having a written confirmation in hand. They told us to our face that we had checked out that morning when we had just arrived! They offered no help to us to find another hotel. They told Orbitz a complete lie - that we had stayed a night. My family, who is very stressed because of family health matters, had to drive 45 minutes in the rain, late at night to find another room. Thankfully, Orbitz was professional and honored our confirmation. Shame on Brookside Resort for their uncaring, poor service and dishonesty. Our weekend was ruined.

Our family stayed at Brookside the week before Christmas. We really enjoyed our stay. Loved listening to the creek run with our balcony door open . We had a fireplace in our room that we thoroughly enjoyed...breakfast was wonderful and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our beds/pillows were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again in the future. My 2 yr old absolutely adored the hotels rescue parrot Emma in the lobby.. we made frequentirely trips to the lobby to visit her and was always welcomed by the staff

Room was very cold and it took the heating unit most of the night to warm it to a comfortable setting. Other than that, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was great.

The best part of the stay is the view of the water stream flowing behind the balcony of each room.

We took a short trip up to see the Christmas parade and craft show. The Brookside Resort was close enough to town to ride the trolley to go shopping and eating. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, we had two cars, and they did not have any problems getting us parking passes for both vehicles. Also one of our room keys stopped working for some reason there first night we were there, they replaced both keys with no problems. The room was comfortable and clean. It was a little outdated, but the website statedd this so we knew what to expect. The bathroom was somewhat more outdated than the room, but still very clean and functional. Our room was on the bottom floor, we had a nice little patio beside the brook which was wonderful. The breakfast was also very good and the staff was very nice.

My room was not the room advertised. It didn't look like ANY of the room pics online. It was not as close to downtown shopping as advertised. It did not have a Mountain View. We stayed in the middle of November and didn't even have a blanket on the bed. When we called down to ask for one, they told us to come get it ourselves. When we got to the office there were 3 employees standing around. Why did we have to drive down (that's how far our room was from the front desk!) at bedtime to get a blanket that should have been provided when they could have driven their golf cart and brought it to us? Not great customer service. We found nicer rooms at the same hotel for cheaper that night. Feel like we were reeled in, hook, line, and sinker.

I am not a high maintance person. I don't expect a $60 a night hotel to be 4 star. But this hotel surely underwhelmed me. The only good things I can say about this hotel is that I didn't see any bedbugs, the balcony on the brook was nice. And the front desk staff were nice, and helpful. Now, where do I start? When we arrived, we were informed that the heated pools and hot tub were closed. As we were unloading our luggage, the maid informed us that she was working late (as it was about 5:00 pm) and that if we wanted to leave her a tip, we might want to put it at the front desk under her name so it doesn't get stolen. Well, who is going in to take it? And what prevents them from stealing my stuff?? With that on our minds, we didn't leave valuables in the room when we left. Just to note, we didn't, have anything stolen that we know of. The first day when we came back from activities, an attempt to clean our room had been made. One bed was made and the other was not, dirty towels were taken, but no new toiletries/towels had been left for us. We had to go to desk for them. And it didn't get much better after that. The room itself is very dated (think 70s-80s), and carpet turned our feet black (had to keep socks on). Another major problem was the amount of permanent residents that are there, and the questionable activities that went on at all hours of night. I slept very lightly. The hot breakfast that is advertised is dry biscuts, a crock pot of chunky white gravy (which was almost empty) and cereal. And you sit at long cafeteria tables. We walked out. So disappointed! We went to a resturant across the street. This whole area has really gone down. It seems like there are lots of transient people and drugs. So sad! We tried to get our money back that first evening. That didn't work out, so we bit the bullet and stayed.

The beds was awful worst beds ever, hair in the beds,shower curtain had mold on it, wasn't exactly close to the attractions, didn't even attempt the breakfast the wifi didn't work at all. Not a great time there.

We arrived on Thursday. Given a room with two double beds, we asked for a different room with a queen/king bed and were told everything was taken. This was not true as the parking lot was deserted until Saturday. We would have left but were meeting other couples there. Our room was dated and old. The deadbolt latch was loose and there was no door seal. You could see daylight around the whole door and hear all the street noise. The lighting in the room was poor. The bathroom had mold. The room was not cleaned our entire 3 night stay. New towels were left but the used ones were still lying on the floor. Our bed was never changed. What's the fun of staying in a hotel if you can't have fresh linens every night!?!? The free breakfast? You better like biscuits and gravy, bagels or oatmeal. It was a poor excuse for a breakfast. We ate across the street. An expense we were hoping to avoid. I felt the online photos were misleading. This hotel is old, not rustic and in need of updating. The only thing we enjoyed was the delightful brook behind our room, which would lull you to sleep at night.

The hotel was outdated. They are in the middle of renovations. It was the first time I used an actual key in years. Not mattress cover, requested and within minutes was corrected.Saw a bear from the balcony!

nice older hotel
