Graduation at UTD so all hotels in area booked solid so probably would not have chosen this hotel otherwise. Pleasantly surprised that despite remodeling going on there were no major disruptions or noise.
I recently was in Richardson for a graduation and stayed at this hotel. It was a last minute decision and rooms at a decent rate were few so I was very thankful I was able to get this reservation at the last minute. In addition other family members were stayig in the same hotel so I figured I would make the best of my stay no matter what. The front desk staff was super friendly, they were the bright spot to my stay. There were serveral events going on over the weekend and booking was limited so my room was upgraded to an executive suite for the same price as the standard room I had reservedl; it kind of went down hill from there. Food options in the hotel were extremely limited, the beds were crazy firm and very uncomfortable. I was awaken by a constant thumping and shall we say talking... yeah we'll call it talking to keep this PG, the walls were super thin... I heard EVERTHING on either side of my room and I do mean everything, use your imagination. Dishes from room service were left on the floor in the halls all day some days all day and half the next day. Long story short I spent as much time away from the hotel as possible which was challenging on a very rainy weekend. For the chain name and money paid I was hoping for a "hotel" not a "motel" experience. Probably will not return
My stepson and nephew have celebrated their b-day at this hotel for 3 years and we've never had any issues. This stay was absolutely horrible. The indoor pool was ice cold (we've stayed there in early April before and never had this experience). The kids couldn't swim. They were incredibly disappointed. I tried to get a refund and find another hotel where the boys could swim, but was told to call back at midnight and they couldn't guarantee a refund but would go ahead and book (and charge me) another room. I declined. In the past, kids ate free but not this time! To top it off, there was no wi-fi so the kids couldn't play on their tablets while in the hotel room due to being unable to swim. When my husband called the front desk to get a number for Pizza Hut they kept him on hold for 5 mins. And we finally called information. This will be our last stay.
We have stayed in this hotel when visiting family in Garland. This is our 8th year. The wait staff for the very good breakfast buffet is very good. The front desk staff are your and appear to be inexperienced in customer service.
We were in town to attend the OU/Texas game. The hotel is conveniently located close to a Dart stop and there's a parking lot for the car.
We decided to eat in the hotel for breakfast one day out of the week, what a mistake. The best I could say is that it filled my stomach. Very bland overall.
Food could have been better, buut staff very nice and helpful. Could tell that the room I had needed a facelift.
We stayed at this hotel b/c my sister had booked her room here. It was a beautiful hotel at first glance. When we checked in the attendant was hesitant and took some time before he got up and came to help me check in, i was the only one there. After a long day out and about we come back to our rooms and our key card doesn't work. His explanation was that either our phone or credit cards demagnetized it. NO apology, didn't seem to care at all. My sister who was across the room from us had to go back a 2nd time to get her key fixed. Again no apology... just said don't keep it near your phone. cold air coming in through the wall heater... you could tell it had been a run down hotel. The "bar"/restaraunt closed early so we had to go out to have drinks. The pool area was beautiful but do to the poor service would not stay again. I'll spend the extra money and go to the Hyatt.
We arrived for a late check-in, their computer server was down and the clerk was very friendly and got us checked in the old fashioned way. He had to run to the rooms, check to see if they were empty and clean then run back down stairs to get us checked in. He was very friendly and apologetic for the issues.
The staff was friendly and helpful. We felt that we received a very good value for the cost and will certainly go there again.
the motel was nice but the bartender tried to over charge me.
We were visiting with family and needed a place to stay for one night. This hotel was fantastic! A pleasure to stay.
The facility, e.g. the lobby is opulent for a Holiday Inn. Of course my expectations for Holiday Inns were formed in the 70's.Anyhow, the room was nice and clean. Downsides: wireless was very slow, water pressure was weak, sink area was cramped. For some reason, I was expecting some sort of breakfast to be included (based on the photos [...]) but while there is a good-looking restaurant, there is no breakfast included (and no free happy hour). Go figure.
Great stay over all
