Nice stay. The staff was nice. The place is a bit beat up, but had that cabin charm.
We stayed overnight for soccer games. We check in, front desk gentleman was nice and welcoming. We get to our room I got to change into comfortable clothes in the restroom while my 11 year old goes to unpack her bag and a Man abruptly bangs on the screen door yelling and demanding her to open the door now that he was the cops and if she didn’t open the door she’d get arrested. My child freighted and froze, she couldn’t even make out the words to tell me anything. Then the Man goes around banging on the front door yelling to open the door and other things I can hear him at this point since it’s closer and told my Child not to open the door. I call front desk to report him and they said it was a misunderstanding that he works for the hotel and assumed we were “squatters”. It didn’t end there, this Man saw us in the parking lot as we were leaving and aggressively tells my child in the future to answer the door to staff. I was angry and told him No way she did what she was supposed to and not open the door to strangers. You don’t treat guest this way. This Man continued to argue about how we were in the wrong for not answering the door. If this Man did his job right he would’ve known we were guest and wouldn’t be treating guest aggressively. So unprofessional. Won’t be staying at this hotel again.
Trash and dirty towels from previous renters still in room. No coffee cups in room. It took 3 hours till anyone did anything after being notified. We had two night booking; second night our key card didn’t work. Last Shilo stay for us.
Nothing.
Positives: Staff was kind and professional, the outside of this property and pool area was beautiful Negatives: Room was very dirty, cracker crumbs all over, dead bugs on nightstand and all over bathroom. The room we received was in no way like the pictures online which felt misleading. I’ve never asked for a different room before, but had we not arrived late our first night, I would have requested a different room. It was that bad. Luckily we were in Bend for many other reasons so we didn’t spend time in our room except to sleep. We also used the pool briefly, but was bombarded by a large group from the banquet area who were drinking alcohol and diving into the pool that children were present in. The pool had rules posted that clearly stated no diving and no alcohol. I will most likely not stay at this hotel again.
We loved the ducks and geese right outside our window!
No pillow cases on pillows when moved in. Bed not finished.
I’m sorry to say but I would not stay here again. For $150 a night I was shocked at how run down this hotel was. I had a suite with a broken microwave, the furniture was old and run down, dirty carpet, and no blankets on the bed. No housekeeping came in to turn over the room in between days/nights. The staff were friendly and thankfully I got another blanket but obviously there is a staff shortage or lack of professionalism/service. I wouldn’t recommend or return. I hope they can get back on track soon.
Had not been vacuumed probably for several stays. Large litter bits all over including bathroom. Sink clogged. Faucet handles turned all the way around…
On arrival noticed the room was not as clean as expected, phone had either blood or chocolate all over the side of it, in between the night stands and beds the carpet was full of pet hair.
The room was not clean, filthy carpet, ripped chair, paid more for river view room, multiple piles of dog poop outside room. Bed linens very wrinkled, did not look clean. Was able to switch rooms but was very disappointed. Expected nicer accommodations for Shilo's reputation.
Carmen at the front desk was helpful and efficient but it rather went downhill from there. While it is located right next to the river and has a small deck, the outside light cannot be turned off to enjoy the evening stars privately. There was no breakfast buffet as advertised- apparently due to covid and the onsite restaurant is closed. A voucher for breakfast offsite would have been nice. There was no booklet in the rooms to explain where things are etc. We were in the farthest building away and the pool was several buildings away- making a cold hike in a swimming suit. There is traffic noise and unexplained crashes and thumping in the night. The refrigerator in the room needed defrosting and the door to the freezer was frozen shut. The price was good but all in all will not be staying there again.
Our room was dark (only had one light so we had to remove the lampshade) but I liked that it had two sinks and a big refrigerator. The best thing was the indoor pool and 2 hot tubs as well as a sauna, fitness room, and steam room in a recreational comples that was open till 11pm. In the morning, I enjoyed the outdoor pool too.
This was absolutely the WORST hotel we have ever stayed in. Dirty, no help. Poor guy at front desk had only been there 3 weeks and was expected to handle a full hotel. Pool was filthy. Hated that families with children were swimming it. Saw no pool maintenance people so who knows what condition the water was in. A pile of dirty sheets left on the landing for the two days we were there. Felt very sorry for the people who were cleaning the rooms. Over worked. Carpets torn on stairs. Lawsuit waiting to happen. It is clear the Siloh Inn collects the money and does not spend it on their people or keeping up their facilities. This pandemic does not excuse their behavior.Stayed at another hotel for 4 days after this experience and it was clean and well maintained. They even redid much of their hotel during the months they were closed. I give this hotel a F and NO stars!!
We came on an extremely hot day, and the air conditioning worked beautifully. It had a small balcony looking out onto the river behind which was lovely. BUT. What we didn't like was that our room was never fully serviced. There was shampoo in the shower that was left over from people who stayed in the room. There was no liner in the waste basket, 4 dead flies on the window sill, and our bed only had a flat sheet on it. No fitted sheet, no blanket, no pillow case. We were highly disappointed in the lack of service to the room
Staff were rude, took 20 minutes before someone came to check us in. No towels in room, then brought us obe towel and a bath mat. Not enough staff.will never stay here again.
It's a good location if you don't need to be downtown, love being on the river for a reasonable price. Normally good amenities and proximity to shops/restaurants. Covid has things a bit turned around (no breakfasts and pool/hot tub closed), but - it is what it is. Other hotels have found ways to mitigate for CoVid, but - I know it's more resource intensive to accommodate at the same levels, so........ still a good stay.
I've been staying here for 20 yrs. Never again my last few trips where bad, change of management is what I heard. I made reservations in Sept. For Spring break. An executive suite with a kitchenette. What they gave me was a room that the receptionist said was out of service . The worst room Ive ever seen there. It seems like a bunch of people are living there with there pitbulls crapping all over . Really went down hill . Sad that all my good memories of the place are now tainted with some trashy experience. More like a Motel 6 feel.

Yes, very special location.

We will do better moving forward.
