Whether you are trying to escape the winter cold or just want a change of pace, board any of the available flights from Indianapolis to Phoenix and you’ll soon find yourself in a bustling urban center surrounded by spectacular scenery. Make today the day you start your travel planning by visiting Orbitz.com. At Orbitz, you’ll be able to compare prices and make all of your travel reservations in one simple system.
The Indianapolis International Airport is located just thirteen miles southwest of the downtown area. Parking is plentiful, and travelers can choose between the covered garage, economy or long-term lots, or valet parking service at daily rates that range from $9 to $20 per day. Several local taxi companies offer transportation to the airport for roughly $30 from downtown. GO Express Travel (800-589-6004) offers the GO Green Line airport shuttle for only $10, and the IndyGo Route 8 bus (317-635-3344) will only cost you $1.75.
When you land at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, you’ll be less than six miles from the downtown area and only a fifteen-minute car ride away. Bring lightweight clothing if you’re visiting in the summer months when temperatures soar into the triple digits, and pack clothing you can layer to accommodate temperatures that fluctuate between the low 40s and mid-60s in the winter months. Because of the intense heat, summer is considered the off season in Phoenix, with March, April, and May being the most popular months to visit. Phoenix is well known for its glamorous resorts, world-class golf courses, and relaxing spas, but there is much more to the city. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike or bike on Camelback Mountain or Piestawa Peak, while urban adventurers might prefer to visit Hanny’s, the Heard Museum, or the Orpheum Theater. Sports fans will want to head over to Chase Field to watch the Diamondbacks play baseball or to the US Airways Center to watch the Suns or Mercury basketball team play.
Phoenix offers its visitors outdoor adventure, boutique shopping, high-end dining, historic landmarks, and arts and cultural activities year-round. Once you visit, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to. Use Orbitz.com to make your travel reservations, and you’ll save money on flights from Indianapolis to Phoenix, hotel rooms, and rental cars.
