The property lists “luggage storage” as an amenity. Upon arrival, I discovered that the luggage storage consists of chains attached to the walls of the main stairway; the front desk will provide you with a padlock to “secure” your bag to a chain. I was traveling with expensive camera equipment in a non-locking case and needed to store it for several hours before checking in. There is no way I could just leave my camera bag locked to a wall in a busy stairwell. I ended up having to find different accommodations with a real luggage storage solution, and was unable to get a refund, so the trip cost me several hundred $ extra as a result. My issue with the property is not related to the actual lodgings. If you don’t need secure luggage storage, it may be a fine place to stay.

My first time doing this for one night only and I was impressed! Staff is amazing, the room and our entire floor was neat, organized and clean. Beed was comfortable too. Nice to have a shared kitchen as well for personal food and leftovers. Roommates were quiet and courteous as well :)

The front desk people sometimes weren't there so you should always have your building code to get in. The room was dark with no windows, which I guess could help someone get a better night sleep except in the corner was a fake plant that had a blaring light in the middle. The foam mattress was too wide for the bed, so a chunk of it was hanging over the side of the bed. There is no luggage room so if you need to leave your luggage there before you are ready to check out, you can either leave it on the shelf in the kitchen area (which I didn't feel comfortable doing) or lock it up in a locker. I would recommend bringing your own lock though, they have a vending machine where you can buy one which I did, but I found it hard to work with. You have to set the combo but it was hard to see the numbers. I ended buying a lock at a nearby CVS. The lockers though are not that big, so if you have something as a big as a suitcase (I had a backpack) I would have the suitcase locked and leave it on the shelf.

Unfortunately, the whole place is painted black and it’s very hard to see your things The night lights go on when somebody moves in the room and if they forget to turn it off, they stay on for about 20 minutes Checking in took about 35 minutes The staff were all helpful, but it seemed like somebody needs to redo the place

I absolutely loved my stay at Nap York Central Park. First off, Francis and Cy at the front desk are the best—so kind, so accommodating, and they truly went out of their way to make sure my trip to New York was great. They were phenomenal! Beyond the amazing staff, the location can’t be beat. I was able to walk to so many great dining options, as well as the classic tourist spots (Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Broadway theaters) with no problem. I also felt safe as a solo traveler in my 20s, especially on the all-women’s floor. The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. I had no issues getting ready in the shared sink area, and the shelf and light inside the bed space were super useful. I had a bottom bunk, so I can’t speak on how easy it is to get into a top bunk. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again on a future trip!
