Great location!

We love Kiawah. We come here several times a year. This was our first time staying at this cottage. The location is amazing. The view of the river was great. Some of the interior was outdated. Our family likes to watch basketball or movies at night after a long day at the beach. I am personally willing to donate a new tv to this place if the owners are interested. Everything else about the place was great. I think the management company could help by providing a little more supplies. We only had one thing of dish soap there when we arrived. Just different than the other Inlet Cove cottage we stayed at during the same trip. But overall it was, as always, a great stay in Kiawah!

Really Average

The unit’s proximity to the beach is its best feature. There’s rust on AC vents, stains on the refrigerator, ants in the kitchen and dirty dishes in the cabinets. Seems it hasn’t been updated in 20 years and it shows. Pictures showing the condition of the property were sent to the property manager and they apologized, but took no action. I’ll try and avoid this property manager in any future rentals.

Amazing location, underwhelming condo

I was dismayed by the unsupportive mattress in the primary bedroom, the coffee pot broke on day two (they replaced it), and some deferred maintenance. Patio tablecloth was really dirty. The redeeming quality was ease of access to the beach!! We spent limited time in the condo. Location was amazing.

Mediocer

While the property and location were as advertised, the property condition was barely average. Very few kitchen items, and the ones there were sub-par. One bed did not have the required sheets. The TVs were old and unable to connect to the Internet, and no cables were provided to connect them to laptops. The community pool, advertised as being available, was under repair, and the property manager made no accommodations to use another pool.

Great Summer Vacation

The treehouse was all that we needed for a week at the beach and nearby Charleston. Kiawah has excellent amenities, and the location of this house was close to all, from the beach to the Kiawah River to Fresh Fields. The property management made the stay easy and hassle-free.

Great Location

Close to the beach! Great neighborhood, dock, and pool. The unit is tired and needs an update. If it were any nicer, it wouldn’t have been available on short notice!

Great stay

having access to a dock and a pool was key. Watching the sunset every night from the dock was really nice. The walk/bike ride to the beach was pretty short, so convenience is good. the view from the house into the marsh/Kiawah river was a game-changer. Overall, i would rent this house again. Great neighborhood.

Wonderful cottage!

The cottage was very nice and tidy. Perfect size and set up. Kitchen well stocked with all the utensils you would need for cooking and plenty of cups, plates, utensils. I9Love the location backing up to the river and marsh. Nice and quiet. We love staying at Inlet Cove and will definately look at booking this one again!

Great stay in beautiful neighborhood

We very much enjoyed staying in West Beach, the property was spacious and clean, and the neighborhood was very beautiful and nice to walk around. Lots of nature, beautiful and peaceful areas to watch the sunset on the river, and only a 8-10 minute walk to the ocean!

Great Spot

Nice location and pretty view. Just inside the gates and short walk to beach and boardwalk. Unit baths and kitchen are dated, and it is not stocked beyond the amenities from the property company. But it a good spot and we would stay there again.

Perfect location on Kiawah

We really enjoyed our stay in the Inlet Cove cottage. The marsh view is spectacular. Very close to the beach (can hear the waves) but nestled back in the marsh = perfect location. Really enjoyed the screened in porch as well as the open porch.

Great location but the home is rough around the edges

The location of the house is great. Close to the beach and to a dock for fishing and crabbing. If you have a canoe or kayak it is easy to launch from the dock. The house is very dated which is not really a problem but this home has deficits that impair it’s function. The kitchen utensils are atrocious. Very few of the pans had flat bottoms. There was a glass with a broken rim in the cabinet. The can opener should be thrown out. I’m not expecting a gourmet kitchen but this one was barely functional. The master bath tub drain is very slow. At the end of a shower you are standing in water over your feet. The carpet has multiple stains. The front steps leading into the house seem dangerous. There is a lot of rot along the side. When those steps fail someone will get hurt. The email for check in listed a phone number to call to get a code for the gate and a parking pass. When we called we were on hold for a long time and eventually rolled over to a corporate office who, while helpful, did not know what we were talking about. Why not include a printable parking pass and the gate code in the original email? This location is managed primarily by a company called Vacasa. I try to avoid using third party managers because they do not use the VRBO communication system which makes it just a bit more difficult to communicate. I don’t think I would stay in this particular home again unless it could be had at a significant discount to other homes in the vicinity.

not the best stay

There was an odor of cigarette smoke in the cottage and a very strong urine odor on and around the sofa (we did not take a pet), the rugs were literally chewed on the corners, the porch light didn't work, two of the ceiling fans didn't work, there was mold on the vent in the MBR, mold and water spots in the MBR closet, etc. The least updated of any Inlet Cove cottage we have ever stayed...and we have been coming for 25+ years! On the other hand, it was not a terrible visit; just not up to usual expectations.

My stay and Opinion

The property was clean, the view and location was great, but the owners need to paint the walls and fix the sinks where the rust has built up. I feel that a deep clean would help this property. Over all I give this 3 out of 5 stars.

Beautiful area

Getting to this house is breathtaking. When we arrived we noticed the carpets were stained. But it is pet friendly. The shower curtain liners were moldy. We notified the rental company about it. Our friends rented the same house a week later and they never replaced the shower curtain liners.

Very enjoyable stay

All in all it was a very pleasant trip. Short walk to the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Only a 40 minute drive to Charleston. Only thing that wish was better was the carpeting could have used a good detailing along with the couch. Plus the shower curtain had mold on it. Other than that a very quiet enjoyable trip.

Aaaaaaah we loved that porch!!

I can't deny, we picked this house because of the porch. The very first thing we did, go out on the porch and enjoy a great cup of coffee. That was the best treat after a hard day of travel. We flew, our friends drove. The paths through the neighborhoods are so wonderful. Next trip, I will get ready for bike rides, and bring the dog.... wow.... It was quiet (minus a little construction, but that happens). We had a problem with the A/C, heating units, but they got right on them as soon as we reported and got them fixed. I forgot to mention to them, one of the doors in the 2nd bedroom came off the closet. The walk to the beach was not bad, even if they have Beachwalker Park closed until May, we did find the beach and had a lovely walk on it. We saw the Angel Tree, and I have to say - it should NOT be missed. It is fabulous. The house and property were an excellent vacation for the money and I will do it again.

First Time at Kiawah

It was great to be able to bring our dog and the view from the decks was beautiful. However, there was NO information on what to expect once we got onto the island, how to get the code to the section of houses we were staying, how to access the beach or pool, or what to do to check out. The house had nice furnishings but the floors were filthy to the point we needed to wear shoes so our feet didn’t turn black. The shower in the master bathroom only dribbled out water so we all had to use the other shower.
