Best thing about this property was the pictures. There was a methed up hooker and, I'm guessing, her pimp hanging out in the parking lot. Several broken down vehicles that looked to have been abandoned taking up most of the parking lot. Room had no toilet paper and there were several dirty towels behind the door.

Property clean. Seem to be a lot of honless hanging around. No security to keep them in check.

Front desk was super friendly and nicely moved us to a less smelly but still pretty disgusting room. The first room smelled of smoke, mildew, and who knows what else. 2nd room had a nasty smell as well but not nearly as bad. TV remote was a mess of duct tape, the bed covers were nasty, and there were stains everywhere in the room. Bathroom was full of hair and clearly wasn't even swept out. The lobby had all these AAA awards and nicest HJ awards... Maybe someone should check out what those awards mean. Disgusting

The whole place is filthy. Pillow cases smelled unwashed. Air conditioner failed to cool the room. Musty smell and the bathroom floors had stains. The hallway and lobby were disgusting with carpet and wall stains. Visible holes in the walls and the breakfast area had flies. I will never go back to Howard Johnson. I've stayed in competitor hotels for less the half the price I paid for this room.

Hotel in very run down condition. Foul odors in rooms and common areas. No elevator, had to carry our luggage to 2nd floor. Bedding itchy and old. Bathrooms not clean. Sorry but we could not go near the breakfast. Staff was nice but we would never stay here again.

Room was easy to get too...right by lobby. Room was clean and comfortable. Good stay.

Shower had mold on walls and curtain had to get another room..breakfast was skimpy with fruit that was bad..I will not be returning

The service was good. There was a stringent odor in the room. The TV would not respond to any remote. The blanket was slightly dirty. The shower was very good and the mattress was great.

Howard Johnson Corporate needs to check this place out. Not clean and crisp feel about place. Was told 2nd floor ice machine had not worked for some time. No efforts during our 2 day stay to fix it. Overall run down and not up to Howard Johnson's reputation for nice motels. No elevator so had to carry my wife's and my luggage upstairs.Very disappointed.

The alarm clock/radio in the room did not work, the phone in the room did not work, I did not care about these problems until I had to get up early to fly out the last day and then had to have someone in California give me a wake-up call on my cell phone. Also the only ice machine never had ice which is needed in Alabama in August. No elevator to the second floor. You have to enter from the side of the building when you check in after 11:00 pm. The area is not as good as other hotels and no cameras on the side of Hotel entrance.

My stay at Howard Johnson was great. The hotel was clean, quiet, and conveniently located. The staff was pleasant and very helpful, and the price was unbeatable. This is a diamond in the rough.

Fine but far away from everything, employees were nice.

NO elevators, was difficult getting up stairs with luggage. Tub had hair in it, not clean. Dirty wash cloth was left on shower rod. Toilet seat cover was loose. Washcloths were stained. Stain on carpet. Clock had the wrong time, not changed from daylight time. Top sheet was paper thin. Bottom sheet was very seeded and rough. Blanket and top sheet were tucked in too far on end of bed, making it impossible to fully cover with. No plastic laundry bag in room.

Less than friendly desk help, actually I think he wished we had not showed up. Outside temperature was 74 and room temperature was over 80 and AC not running when we arrived at 9:30PM. The hotel was clean and safe. Good location for meeting my business needs. We stayed for two nights. First morning the coffee was fresh, breakfast pastries were not fresh. Second morning the coffee was very old and the same stale pastries from the day before. The icing on the cake was when checking out, I asked for a receipt and the same gentleman quickly informed I did not get a receipt! I thanked him and wished him a good day. He failed to respond.
