Marriott Rewards Member with profile on file. Specifically states upper level room away from elevator. I booked online for a 1 Bedroom King with tub/shower combination and sofa bed. Arrived at the hotel and was assigned room 105. I advised the person at the desk that I preferred an upper level room. I was reassigned a room which I believe was 316. I went up to 316 and immediately noticed that it did not have the tub/shower combination and it had an awful view overlooking the dumpster. I went back to the front desk and told them that I needed a tub/shower combination. I was told that the only thing available was room 106. I accepted the room. When I entered the room I found out that it was a handicap room without the sofa bed, just one chair. I told them it was unacceptable. I was then told that 316 was no longer available, but they had a room on the 2nd floor. I went to the room on the second floor and found it only had a shower, and it appeared to be directly below 316 with the same awful view of the dumpster. By this time I had seen enough. I advised them to cancel my reservation. I asked to speak with the manager but I was told he was not on the premise. I was given his card but when I called the number it just rang and gave no option of leaving a voice message. I honestly do not believe that the personnel at the front desk did all they could to accommodate and they actually appeared relieved that I just canceled my reservation. This was a new experience at a Marriott property.
We stayed one night at the Courtyard on our way to Charleston. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived the front desk agent was pulling double duty - agent and bartender. And she did a great job! Our room was nice, location great and hotel clean, We spent the evening in the Bistro enjoying some wine and the killer Skillet Meatballs. They were so good and filling. This was a great way to start our 12 day vacation.
The staff is the BEST in the area! The courtyard outside is very nice and peaceful! The overall stay was fantastic in every way. Super comfy beds and very clean! I would recommend to anyone going for the weekend of music. Quick Uber ride to historic downtown!
Arriving to the property after dark, I was unable to tell much about the exterior of the property but from what I could tell, things were well maintained and seemed to be free of clutter or trash. The check in process was easy and seamless. The pool is out of order and they do not offer coffee except from the Starbucks coffee bar where you pay for each cup. The elevator worked perfectly and upon entering the hotel room, it was a spacious floor plan with a king bed, desk, refrigerator, balcony and a sofa bed. The bed was EXTREMELY HARD and very uncomfortable. It was higher at the foot end than the head therefore sleep was not happening. The walk in shower and toiletries were all very nice and plenty of towels were available. Here is were things went wrong. At checkout, I made mention to ‘Jake’ that the bed was uncomfortable and that it was elevated incorrectly. He never acknowledged the issue. I also made him aware that we would be leaving the luggage with them long enough to grab lunch. Upon returning with the luggage, i asked if he preferred we leave it on the cart or remove it? He asked, what do you mean? I replied that we were leaving the luggage to go for lunch. His response was ‘leaving the luggage?’ It was as though it was an inconvenience and not allowed. I said never mind we will find another means. He laughed at me. A Titanium Member with a service animal and now he says ‘we also do not allow pets.’ She is a a service animal an he said no she is not because service animals do not bark. WHAT? Where would someone gain such info that a service animal never barks? I am at the end of this and would not recommend this property....
The hotel is exceptional. I loved the room. The front desk clerk was very friendly and welcoming. Now for the bad news the location is next to the interstate and noisy. There are many restaurants nearby but the neighborhood is not one I would walk around in after dark.
I visited the Courtyard Marriott on Friday, January 18th. The young lady at check-in was very friendly and accommodating. Upon entering my room, I had a couple of opportunities for improvement. As my husband and I were in a rush, as we were leaving out for dinner, we informed her of the two issues we had and asked if she could address it for us. When we returned from dinner, everything was taken care of for us! I also want to note how impeccably clean the room was. Great job Tiffany!
Don’t underestimate this courtyard located right off the interstate. They only have 70 plus rooms but the service as well as friendly staff makes this place a good choice for relaxing after business. The Bistro service and food is delicious. The workout room is clean and well equipped for the small space. Very convenient to the Regional airport, shopping, and food. Put this on your list.
Initially, I was very leery staying here due to the outside was outdated, but this is a Marriott hotel and the services/establishment never seems to disappointment me. From the minute I entered the lobby, everything was extremely clean, peaceful and gorgeous. The room setup was the same - just as every new and/or renovated Marriott Courtyard is. Last, Customer Service was OUTSTANDING - India was very professional and attentive to my needs. I look forward to returning.
Staff, building, location, etc. all are very good & recommended. Wife is heavy sleeper & she did fine& would rate hotel very good. I’m a lite sleeper & seem to be getting lighter & even with ear plugs the road noise didn’t abate enough for me to sleep until after 1:30a & traffic woke me up shortly after 6a.
I usually like Marriott Courtyard facilities. Really super staff at this particular location. Rooms are very clean. Very convenient location, although the trek required to make it back to the interstate is like following pasta noodles in a colander. Still, close to shopping, dining and not too far from the airport. Mattresses very comfortable and rooms are quiet. Well appointed rooms and convenient parking.
