Our family from AL, FL, and NC stayed for 2 nights. We spent a lot of time gathered in the lobby talking, eating, drinking. The front desk and bar staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean. The kids enjoyed the pool. The mini-store was helpful to have when the kids wanted a snack.
It's hard for a hotel to stand out. If you provide excellent customer service people will come back. They did this for me and my family. Very friendly personnel at this hotel. Great job to the staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable bedding, nice indoor pool, small gym as expected, lobby restaurant had a good breakfast selection and decent speed on service. I will stay here again next time we're back in Mobile
Had to go to Mobile on last minute business. Made reservation directly with the hotel. Clerk was friendly and helpful. Property is just off interstate so don't let security scare you. Room was to usual Courtyard standards.
One night stay, we went by the pool and the chlorine smell is too strong I could not even hang around the pool for long. Indoors pool, not warm. Staff provided everything we needed and then some more.
I stayed for 1 night on a weekend as they had a great deal using combination of points and $ so a good deal. There was an overwhelming smell of chlorine from the pool when I entered but it had dissipated later in the evening. The check-in was easy with great staff behind the desk. Room was clean and spacious as expected. My only pet peeve is with the internet service. It seems that the more money you pay for a hotel room the more extras they try to force on you for added revenue. There was "free" wifi but it initially would note connect. I refused the $5 option for faster connection. When it finally did connect you have to go 3through a re log in procedure every time your device goes to sleep. In cheaper hotels I have found that this does not happen as frequently and much of the time the connection stays good for days. I just don't get it.
We were a late arrival after 11:00 PM. The clerk working the desk immediately greeted us by name and had everything ready for us to quickly check in. He was extremely friendly and helpful. Te room was very nice and with plenty of space and it was very quiet. An overall good experience.
I can't remember the last time I stayed at a Courtyard, but I thought they were suites. Apparently not. In fact, the rooms were pretty small. Nice furnishings - very modern - but the beds are actual doubles. Now, I know that double rooms are "double doubles" in hotel speak and were originally almost always two double beds, but I can't remember the last time I had an actual double bed in a hotel room not a queen size. It's...cozy, especially when someone is having trouble sleeping. Mini fridges in the room, which is great. But no microwave! (So if you bring back leftovers, how are you supposed to heat them up? The bathrooms are very clean and it's nice to have the toilet/shower separate from the sink. They only provide shampoo, soap, and conditioner - no lotion (which I could've used). The shower is just a shower and not a tub, but is very nice (albeit narrow - it would not be ideal for a larger person). The lobby is great, although some of the furniture could stand replacing (worn quite badly). Breakfast (and dinner/snacks) is available at a Starbucks-lite right there in the lobby. Breakfast was very good but quite slow and not cheap. My coffee came after my meal both mornings. The staff is very friendly, however (at the front desk and the Starbucks - and I think they sometimes do double duty). They also have a convenience store where you can charge things to your room at the front desk but we didn't use that. They have a nice indoor pool - 5-ft at highest. No jacuzzi. Really nice outdoor area just outside of the pool area. I didn't use the fitness center this trip.
Asked directly to housekeeping that they not close the door clasp and let the door slam on it directly and loudly. Next day they're back to their old habits. I again asked them and I was completely ignored. Now we have an attitude problem. Today at 2:30 pm I called down to the manager about it. They had a chat. The doors continue to be slammed somewhat. I called down again to the manager who said they would talk with them. 20 minutes later I have to call again to the desk and tell them someone needs to be fired. Probably the one with the attitude. Three calls to the front desk. And they blah blah blah very loudly in the hallway. By far the worst housekeeping I've come across. Thanx for the winning attitude!
In town for a tennis tourney Stayed 4 nights Hotel has no hot tub & shower only in bath I needed to soak Pool closed entire time No complimentary coffee No breakfast No happy hour Overall clean updated old style hotel room Nothing special at all Bedsheets poor fit & kept slipping off TV on side wall making it a strain in the neck to watch from bed Poor room layout Housekeeping staff very nice Hotel was super clean I just need a bathtub or hot tub, Coffee & sheets that fit! Friends stayed at drury just down the street and had free breakfast, hot tub and 1 free cocktail per day. I will stay there if I come back!
We stayed here 2 years in a row when we came to town for a tennis tournament. Service was mixed at best. Bath towels were replinished but hand towels, wash cloths, and shampoo were not. Heater in the pool was not working so we could not enjoy the pool. Hotel does not offer complementary breakfast. Hotel staff is nice but service could use an upgrade.
