The hotel was very clean. We had to park about 2 blocks away and you had to pay to park there even though we paid almost 300 a night to stay there. I thought that was a little ridiculous.

Wifi was AWFUL! Parking was far from our room! Room had a small refrigerator which was nice, but NO microwave!

Did not like having to park so far away from the building, also didn't care for the elevators being almost at the opposite end of the building from check-in and where you unload your belongings. It's a haul to have to carry everything when you don't have a luggage cart available(as we did).

Love this place. It's perfect. The staff is so kind and the setting is gorgeous. The care taken in the environmentally friendly design of the hotel is evident. One big problem is that sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach and now we are in their space.

Parking is quite a hike from the rooms and there doesn’t seem to be enough space to move cars causing someone to back into my vehicle. The television in the room only worked half the time.

I liked the gluten free food and the atmosphere. It was a great lunch spot.

Great location, fishing, boating, and shopping are everywhere. Not crowded at all

Unique property. Very nice ND away from all the crowds

Very nice property right on the beach. Quiet and comfortable rooms. I like the availability of the ocean-facing decks on every floor (common areas) even if you have a land-facing room. Several restaurants onsite; expensive water (3$ per bottle) but you can go into town to get drinks and keep them in the provided fridge. Surrounded by restoration dunes; you can't go into the dunes... but you can see the state park across the highway.

Very clean, new, private good bea ch nice piol with dining and bar outside

First, the positives: The location was great. The hotel is gorgeous. Very nice amenities. Clean. Now, the negatives: PARKING. Completely horrible parking. First, let me say, I exercise a lot. I walk approximately 2-3 miles per day and I ride an exercise bike 10, but the distance from the lot to the hotel is ridiculous. I understand they are protecting the dunes, but they charge $5 for you to walk a mile to park or $12 for valet. The hotel itself is spread out quite far too. The hallways are super long too. Other issues: the bathroom lighting is not great, only one chair in the room, no microwave, glass cups/coffee mugs, and the “incidental charge “ of $50 that I hope was credited back, since I didn’t use it. Again, gorgeous new hotel, but not perfect! All things considered, I might stay here again.

The Lodge is clean, very eco-friendly, and the lobby is beautiful. I liked the fact that there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the views, either in the lobby or on balconies accessible from the hallways on each floor. Parking is a bit inconvenient, but valet is available. The "infinity pool" is a joke, I'm afraid. Yes, the water spills over the edge, but only into a trough, and there's a thick fence between it and the gulf so you can't be in the pool and see the sand or gulf. The rooms are basic hotel rooms with only a small fridge. The bathrooms are a nice size, though, and the showers are awesome. Be sure to ask for a gulf-view room if that's important to you because only half the rooms do.

Very nice property but the parking lot is a long walk away. They do offer valet parking but I’m just not a valet kinda guy. The lighting around the pool area at night was very low and could be brighter in my opinion. Other than that it was Great

Amazing property on the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful lobby and pool. Gorgeous color choices and layout.

Hi Becky, We appreciate your review. Thank you for your compliment regarding the cleanliness of our beautiful facilities. As you may already know, The Lodge is located inside beautiful Gulf State Park. Similar to fellow paid parking lots along the beach within the state park, The Lodge’s parking is also a paid lot. Although there is a minimal charge for parking, you will be pleased to know The Lodge does not have any hotel fees, like the majority of hotels charge their guests. Also, our focus is to give back to and preserve the beauty of Gulf State Park, which includes a $5 parking fee. Thanks again for your review. We hop to see you again soon!

Hi Lodge guest, We are sorry to hear we did not meet all of your expectations. We regret to hear you did not have a good Wi-Fi signal. Occasionally, a few of our areas receive a weaker signal than desired. It gives you additional time to enjoy the wonderful views of the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf State Park. Our unique architecture, layout and design was developed around our commitment to the sustainability and protecting the natural dunes. The positioning of the buildings takes advantage of the gulf breezes for natural ventilation and maximizes natural lighting of the interior. This design reduces both energy usage and interior water use compared to a facility of similar size. Fun fact about the parking spaces too, as you may have noticed, the uncovered parking spaces are permeable (a grid made of recycled plastic). This allows for rainwater to drain directly into the ground, and not to a storm sewer. We do apologize if the walk seemed excessive. Thanks again for your review. We appreciate your time.

Hi Tim, Thank you for your review. We regret to hear we did not meet all of your expectations. We understand the concerns with parking. Our hotel property is designed to preserve the natural dunes of the beach, so our layout is long east to west along the beach, rather than long north to south. The additional benefits are that you get a beautiful view of the Gulf as you make your way to your room. Fun fact about the parking spaces too, as you may have noticed, the uncovered parking spaces are permeable (a grid made of recycled plastic). This allows for rainwater to drain directly into the ground. We do apologize if the walk seemed excessive. For your next visit, please inquire with our Bellmen for a luggage cart, they have a number of carts available. Thanks again for your feedback.
