We attended a wedding at the new Gulf State Lodge and were very impressed with the facilities. The staff we encountered went out of their way to be courteous and helpful, The reception rooms were amazing and the food was great.

We took our family on a summer vacation to Gulf Shores and chose the Lodge for our stay. It was perfect! We stayed in a double queen room. There were four of us and the room was very nice. Some of the furniture made it a little crowded with luggage, Beach stuff, etc. but it worked out just fine. We stayed on the gulf side of the hotel, which I highly recommend. Our room was on the top floor with beautiful views of the Gulf. It was a short walk to the beach. Since it is not part of the public access the crowd was minimal and there was plenty of space for setting up to spend a day on the beach. We brought our own but there was an option to rent umbrellas and chairs for $35 a day. In addition, the pool was nice and never over crowded. I believe it had something to do with the turtles but there wasn’t a lot of light around the pool. This made it a little difficult to see after the sun went down. The restaurants on the property were nice and easily accessible. The hotel is right before Orange Beach so it is a little bit away from the traffic of tourists but it’s not too far from attractions in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. Overall, it was a great stay and we will return.

This hotel is beautiful. It is very eco-friendly. No plastic straws, Recycling, Dune restoration. It's wonderful.Parking is a little far, so if you have issues with walking distances, it's best to valet (it's only $5 more than self park). The room was lovely, we had a gulf front room, and sitting on the balcony was like Heaven. The beaches are pristine, and you don't have the clutter of condos all up next to you staying in the State Park. Most everyone, as far as staff goes, was amazing. Jeff was kind enough to help us to our room with our luggage and was great at conversation along the way. Jesse was terrific at check in, very informative and genuine.Check in was a breeze. You must dine at Foodcraft, the food was great and the service from Michelle was even better. The only downfall was some training needs to be done with the night manager, Linda. I overheard a guest with an issue while I was enjoying sitting in the lobby, and Linda was very short with them. They asked to speak to a manger and she informed them she was the manager on duty in a condescending tone. She said they were free to speak to the manager that came in at 7 to try to get what they wanted. Why is she not able to help when she's in management? I was floored. I also had to deal with her upon check out as we left really early. She was friendlier but seemed clueless. I asked to split the bill on different cards as I was staying with friends and we all wanted to pay equally. She told me it was, "easier to just leave it on one card and collect the money from my them". Are you kidding me? I have never had a hotel that couldn't split the bill, and I have a hard time believing this one if any different. We just left it alone, it was taking too long to deal with. My friends just paid me in cash after getting back home. Other than that, it was a beautiful trip. I'll definitely return as almost everyone else was polite and the hotel was exactly what I expected from a Hilton

The hotel is beautiful and right on the beach with very easy beach access. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent!! The only thing I would suggest is bring your own pillow. The pillows are really flat and don't offer any support.

I have always preferred Hilton. They always provide excellent service. This property and staff were awesome. The food was great. The view on of the gulf from our room was great. I would recommend this facility

the rooms are great size but get one close to the elevators if you have issues walking a ways. get a room higher than 2nd floor if you want to really see ocean not just dunes and chairs. Valet its worth the extra money for sure $5. we were at a conference and the hotel had done the lunch which was great both times. The shrimp boil dinner was a little on spicy side to much obay seasoning for the group dinner didn't take in consideration lots of types of people. don't bring towels they have them.

The Lodge at Gulf State Park, A Hilton Hotel is a fine resort with amazing views of the Gulf, fine dining (great quality food), exceptional breakfast, and an amazing lobby. Their conference and ballroom area is in a separate building and gorgeous. They offer pool side service, towels, fast food, game room and a water bottle fountain. The elevator is amazingly fast. You can rent ocean lounges and umbrellas or bring your own. The pier is next door which is convenient. The property itself matches the surrounding state park and conveniently located next to Shelby Lake and Orange Beach. However, we were extremely disappointed by the lack of pool maintenance and lack of umbrellas surrounding the pool area. People grab umbrella seating by the pool and leave their things all day; to eat breakfast or go back and forth from the beach. It was 100 degrees and only one day we were able to secure umbrella seating. The pool was an extremely important feature for us because I have balance issues and cannot go in the ocean or walk on the sand. The first dqy the pool was beautiful - clear and welcoming. The next four days the pool was so cloudy / dirty my husand couldnt see his feet or watch on his hand. We actually heard kids openly talking about peeing in the pool and several parents with babies in diapers (more pee) were in the pool. WOW and DISGUSTING! I wish they had an adult pool. If the pool situation was resolved we may return, but not until it is resolved.

Enjoyed a recent stay at a newly built Hilton property. Great location. Front desk staff provided excellent customer service. Hotel is extremely clean and environmentally friendly. Good food. On the beach. Very nice pool. Family friendly. Recommend this property to you.

Recently, my family and I visit the Lodge for a family vacation. We had an amazing time and enjoyed every minute of it. The three restaurants: Perch, Dragonfly, and Foodcraft were so yummy. The staff at each were terrific and made sure we were having a great time and enjoyed every minute of it. My children really enjoyed the pool and I especially enjoyed the great service by the Pool Attendant, Sam. He made sure all of the trash was picked up around us and that everyone had clean towels. He even asked us if we needed anything and figured out the answers to any questions we had. I strongly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a place to vacation. The staff, views, and atmosphere were astounding and my family and I will definitely be back.

My family & I stayed at The Lodge during the last week of May. We had no idea what to expect as we have never been to the area. It truly is divine...the rooms were very clean & beds were comfortable. Restaurants were delicious, especially the breakfast. The decor is breathtaking & the beach is easily accessible. Every single employee that we came in contact with was friendly & helpful, but we do want to call out 1 person specifically. Yvonne checked us in & was beyond helpful, as we had several rooms. The check in process was so smooth & quick, and she was very quick to give us an idea of where everything was located (restaurants, pool, fitness center, etc). As I said above, everyone was great, but she truly is am asset to the property. We will definitely be back very soon as we fell in love with the hotel & the area.
