Very hip and funky place. Good location in Tribeca so very convenient to everything. Extremely clean and quiet. We were on the 4th floor. Beds super comfy and Frette linen. The lobby is nice and is also a restaurant. They have happy hour with $1 oysters which were delicious.Look for specials and I went right onto the Roxy site itself so this time that worked out well. There are clubs inside and also movies. I was too tired to do either after walking for miles around the city!!!
I'll start with an admission: the Roxy was not our first (or second) choice but the one with availability of a double x double room on our dates. How lucky were we? The Roxy has a cool/hip vibe but the staff were all super-warm and helpful from check-in (with proffered glass of champagne) to check-out (with car organised at short notice.) Our room was spacious in NY terms, the bathroom likewise, and our beds were extremely comfortable. There was surprisingly little traffic noise and we country girls slept soundly. As for the location, we could not have been happier. We used the subway to get around -- one station entrance/exit is literally across the street -- and liked staying away from the midtown tourist crowds. Yet there were many, many restaurant choices within a few blocks.
Super staff. Great location. Nice clean room. Live music and a great brunch. Awesome coffee bar too. Love it and would definitely stay there again. A big shout out to Wesley on the bell staff. He made our stay wonderful :)
Just don't bother to stay anywhere else in NYC! A sweeping statement I know but having travelled the world and stayed in many four and five star hotels - whilst the majority offer impeccable service and facilities etc - they are soulless until you stay at the Roxy. Genuine character, superb and attentive staff, four star service, retro NYC feel, succinct and situated in one of the fastest growing and Uber cool areas of the city. A fantastic and diverse array of stunning restaurants are all literally within ten mins walk - just book this hotel!!!!
We turned up at 10.30 for the 11am brunch and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. They were happy to take us to our table to wait for the rest of the party to arrive. We didn't get much explanation of the food (which is spread over two separate rooms) but we sussed it out. Meat and eggs in one room, lovely salads and pastries in the other. It's not cheap ($155 for four people) but the ambience is nice, they are great with kids and the band were good too. Recommended.
Great location close to shopping and subways Rooms are unique with a 70's theme decor. They even have a record player with a selection of albums. Upgrade to a suite it is worth every penny. Make sure you enjoy all of the entertainment the hotel offers. The lobby jazz band was fantastic and the big band entertainment in the lower level lounge was top notch. They also have a small theater in the lower level that is perfect for a late night movie and snacks Service was exceptional from the front desk to the bell staff. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and the bell staff went out of their way to assist me with my bags. I found parking on the street and saved the parking fee If you are traveling with a pet please note the hotel is very accommodating. I had a small dog with me and they offered bowls as well as treats for my dog The only negative was the hostess in the lower level lounge. When I asked to be placed on the wait list she was very rude and told me they don't take reservations When I asked for a manager he quickly found a table for my husband and I. I look forward to returning to this hotel but will be sure to make reservations for the restaurants in advance of my stay.
We had a wonderful stay at the Roxy. Awesome helpful charming staff. They could not have been nicer. The rooms were lovely. The hotel has a fantastic vibe with live music in the lobby bar and Jazz in their cool jazz cellar at night, and loved the cinema. Very cool fun place to stay in NY.
My brother, David, who is an unashamed Roxyphile, recently treated me and my husband to an unforgettable week in NYC and Miami. Our Manhattan base was the legendary Roxy Hotel in Tribeca. and it certainly lived up to its reputation of style, energy and exemplary service. Located slap band in the middle of trendy Tribeca, its interior pays homade to a bygone art deco era, with stylish contemporary post-industrial, urban touches thrown into the mix. The vibe is fantastic, with jazz daily pulsating from its foyer and intimate basement music venue; the breakfasts are scrumptious; as for the staff, well they provide exemplary, professional and customised service. Special thanks to Sami! This is THE base from which to explore the hubs of Little Italy, Tribeca, the World Trade Centre and the Village, not to mention serving as the gateway to The Lower East Side, Brooklyn and beyond. x
The Roxy is a very central hotel with a fantastic staff. The rooms are lovely, however lack coffee machines. The concierge, and the front door men are super friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast is great, however the service at the breakfast restaurant and evening dining areas is very slow. They are understaffed and overworked. If you like to sleep really early you will need ear plugs. The band playing music is pleasantly loud and the door rooms are not sound proofed.
The Roxy has become a regular stay for us when we visit NYC. We love the TriBeCa location as it feels more authentic than staying uptown. The location is walking distance to SoHo, Chinatown, Little Italy, the East Village and Wall Street. We love the lively lobby scene. There is often live music and at night an entire jazz band. There are lots of cozy places to sit, pool tables , and chess boards. A great place to spend a night, or to come "home" to after exploring. The rooms are retro and not a style I would pick, but it all works. We have stayed in a few different rooms. The junior suite had a turntable with a great selection of records. The beds are comfortable and the amenities are nice. Be aware the lobby bar can be heard in the lower floor, but we loved the sounds drifting through. Brunch is a great way to spend a lazy morning. Jacks Coffee makes a great cup of coffee. The staff at the Roxy are friendly and upbeat. Great place to stay if you are tired of chain hotels and are looking for a change.
