The hotel, from the entrance, lobby, and room, was very poorly maintained, dirty, and smelled terrible. The bed was very bad, the mattress was damaged, and the air conditioning never cooled properly. I reported it and saw no signs of it being damaged. The sound was terrible, so I couldn't sleep. My worst stay.

I was looking for a bit of quiet, clean beds and bathrooms, and a good location. Below is what led me to give a 2 start overall rating. Migrants/Homeless were living in a room next to our original room. At around 10PM we arrived back in our room, and it smelled like pot. We're on the 11th floor and I couldn't imagine that leaving the window open would cause that, but closed the w- indw. 2 hours later I woke up and it still smelled. And I woke up because the people next door (sounded like a woman and kids) were loud, then someone else came in and kept opening and closing the door. It sounded like a family squabble and so I finally went downstairs to complain. The person at the desk immediately gave us another room. He did not really want to know what was happening. He did, however, ask the security guard to go upstairs to find out what was going on. I walked by the security guard talking to the residents in the room, and it was not like a guest/concierge conversation at all. The second night we woke up in our new room with loud music next door at 2:30 in the morning. They turned it on likely around that time! Who does that? I went to complain downstairs and they got them to turn it off. This hotel does allow migrants/homeless to stay there as part of a city program. I tried to get a refund, but only got $100 (we were there 5 nights). Lastly, the air conditioners were loud! You had to have them on because the rooms are stuffy.

Pretty large room. The King Size bed was really large. Subway on 96th and Broadway, only two blocks away. The Corner Cafe is right across the street on Broadway and 94th. In the morning I got dressed and put on sunglasses and picked up coffee and breakfast. Nice Lobby. The price was very reasonable for two people. Restaurants in walking distance. Symphony Space is very close. If you like the Upper West Side, and are looking for a reasonable price, this place is good.
