Always a good experience at HIE in Fort Payne, Al. Our room is always clean and welcoming and quiet. We stop in for one night to get off the road for a 2 day journey to Va. we always stay at this hotel because we are very happy with the service we receive. Also a very good breakfast.

Don't waste your time calling with questions

We had a last minute need for a hotel room. I called the direct number prior to booking to ensure the pool was open. After being told yes, I told my 2 and 3 year old we could swim and stopped for bathing suits on the way to check in at around 7pm. After arriving, I was told the pool had been closed for some time and there was nothing the hotel could do because I booked through hotels.com. I could have booked at 3 other nearby hotels for the same price.

There was nothing wrong with the property. It was perfectly adequate for our purpose. Cozier linens and towels would have improved, but that is not the hotel's fault. We knew what we'd be getting when booking there. I would have no problems staying there again.
