I really want to love this place. It's charming, staff is really friendly but the building has toxic mold. I was first put into room 00 and I noticed a bubble of paint on the bathroom wall indicating past water damage, so I was suspicious. I also had to open the toilet tank as the toilet was malfunctioning and the whole inside was covered in mold. I noticed all this a few hours after check in, but since there is no front desk person all night, I was sleepless and coughing until the next day when I was able to get switched to another room. The employee was very helpful and immediately got me taken care of to another room upstairs, although even that room had visible mold beginning to grow in the tile grout in the shower and visible water damage from a really strange installation of the sink that was super loose. I have just come out of a toxic mold situation in my own home so I am much more sensitive than most people at this time as my system is overloaded with toxins as I detox, so most people probably would not have such a severe reaction, but please let my suffering not be in vain. Chantico Inn management needs to hire a professional mold inspector to assess the hotel and remediate, for the safety of employees and all guests. In addition to the mold, after I checked out they overcharged me for "additional taxes" without my prior consent so I am still waiting for a resolution on that. If I'd had the money I would have gone to another hotel but I could not swing it.

The neater gave off a terrible odor (it clearly had not been serviced or cleaned) and the gas fireplace didn't work. They moved us to a different room. That was better, but still a weird room. Lots of space given over to a jacuzzi tub--but no closet for hanging clothes, poor lighting, chintzy amenities. (I've never seen such tiny bath soap.) I asked for decaf coffee and a shower cap--they weren't sure they could provide them, though they did end up delivering both. And this was an expensive room! The staff tried to be accommodating, but the room was very disappointing given the steep price.

Terrible value. Dirty smelly

No breakfast. They announce it at 7:30 am and found it closed both 2 days. I need a refound for that.

Liked the tower and the little gate in from of the door. Didnt like the raised sink in the room because water would pour onto the counter.

We stayed for 1 night and paid $495 after taxes and fees, but was also charged a random separate $15 when we checked in. Thought is might be a incidental hold, but after we left the $15 stayed charged to my account with no explanation of what it was for. Overall room was Ok but the bed was a $100 night bed vs a $500/ night bed. Pretty standard Days Inn type mattress. Overall it wasn’t a bad experience but Id likely look for other lodging when I return to Ojia, especially for that price.

This was the most disapointing stay I have had every with Orbitz. If you look at the description of the Hotel whne making reservation, it is false adavertising, You will size a large suite, this room was so small that the juicuzzi that was suppose to be at the back of the room was right next to the high bed. Which was a nightmare to get into and out of. Very dangerous. only one small latter to get into. The other person had to jump in. Bathroom the size of a small closet, And the door would not close, lamps old and broken, took shades off just be able to see in room. HAD to go in sideways to just get in bathroom. door was to low and scraped the floor. Very dark room, not enough light to see anything made it even darker. No light above the bed. Plugs to juicuzzi & bath tub were not in the room. Paid $314.00 with tax per night, and no way to fill tub or juicuzzi. No clock. My husband took sink plug out of plumbing just to be able to use juicuzzi. Never, every again...Asked for a different room said they were booked.

This place was amazing and I’d love to go back. We were late for check in but they were willing to stay late to make sure we got our keys. The check in process was easy. Our room was beautiful and even had robes to use. It was quiet and clean. The perfect place for our honeymoon.

Furnitures are outdated. Broken drawers, broken TV, & dirty stained couch. Good communication with staff and easy check in. Good location.

No plug for the jet tub and it’s the whole reason I booked the room! They couldn’t offer me a discount since I booked here. Won’t be back.

I would not recommend this hotel.

I could never contact the manager over the phone. In a 2 night 1 day stay, I was asked to change the room 3 times since the ac was not working in the room I was allocated. I was told that I could stay in a different hotel on the 2nd day, however, I can't contact them for the refund even though I checked out after 1st night stay. I wouldn't recommend this place to stay.

I loved the stained glass window and the whole feel of it. The area was quite quaint and quit.

The property is just a block from the main walkway in Ojai. Decor is funky Mex-inspired with a touch of bordello and very welcoming. Pool is clean. Hot tub is hot. Staff is friendly and wifi works just fine. We enjoyed our stay!

Debbie was great at check in. Huge bed, tight bathroom, interesting decor.
