We stay in choice hotels often. We were passing through the area rockhounding and needed a place to stay. This chain hotel did not disappoint us. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the typical one offered. I would stay here again.
Things started great with my reservation, then when i arrived I found a dim/poorly lit parking lot. When i went inside i asked to check in, the lady checking me in said about 5 words to me the entire time. I got to the room, called a friend staying there, and found out he was actually at a different Comfort Inn at the other side of town. How does a town this small have 2 of the exact same hotel and NOT notify you of this when you are reserving? The room was nice enough, and pretty clean, and the Sunday I arrived the wifi worked well. This is when it started really falling apart. The ethernet in the room didn't work, of course I found this out after i already fully unpacked and didn't want to move rooms. I had asked before checking in if there was ethernet and HDMI ports available in the room, and was told yes. The TV had one HDMI port that could not be accessed, and the only way to connect my computer to it to use as a larger display for my presentations was to unplug the HDMI cable from the small cable box. It worked, but was limited. The wifi for the rest of my stay was terrible. Constant disconnecting or extremely slow, and then the password was changed without notifying those of us staying there. And then, while leaving several laptops, tablets, a test phone and other hardware in my room, with the DO NOT DISTURB card on my door, they still came into my room and cleaned it, moving my stuff around without permission. DO NOT DISTURB means what it says, you DO NOT DISTURB. I was told by the front desk folks that they "have to come in every 3 days". Fine, warn me of this BEFORE I MAKE RESERVATIONS, or when I check in, so I can have all of my items secured and locked away. This is unacceptable beyond everything else I had issues with. The "breakfast" was poor, with pure white hashbrowns on all but one day (there is the word brown in hashbrown). I couldn't find plates the first day at all, and the last two days the TV had no sound. When the front desk was asked about the sound, they said, "ask someone in there" pointing to the meal area. When the man running this area was asked, he said "I don't know how to work it, it's broke probably". When asked for creamer, I was told, "We's out of creamer", though there's a large Walmart in town. The TV's were terrible in the rooms, if you turned the sound up at all during a movie they vibrated and made terrible sounds, and out of the 1400 channels, about 3/4 of them had NO SOUND, and 1/2 of them actually were locked out channels. I don't need so spend 45 minutes looking for something to watch, just to find out it has no sound. I will never stay at another one of your hotels.
Checked in, ➡ to the fitness room. One treadmill had an out -of-order sign on it, so my husband used the other one. After some time, the back-up treadmill abruptly STOPPED, nearly throwing my 65-year-old husband to an injury. He tried again, holding ON this time ➡ the same thing happened, but he was holding on and could manage. He got off - I tried the treadmill. After 1 min, 50 sec, I could hear the motor wind down and the treadmill abruptly stopped, but I was holding on. I tried again ( holding on ), and the same thing happened. I stopped at the front desk to report the dangerous situation, and I offered to put an Out-Of-Order sign on the offending treadmill. Manni ( ? ) said that SHE would put the Out-Of-Order sign on. That was 5:18pm. She said she would call the on-call maintenance and LET ME KNOW about the treadmill. I said I would use the treadmill later, after it was repaired. She agreed to call my room w/ the maintenance update. By 8:30pm, no "Out-Of-Order" sign was on the treadmill, nor any update from Manni, as promised. 👎 I returned to the front desk, she apologized for not calling me w/ the maintenance update. She said maintenance tested the treadmill at Level 8 & didn't find a problem. ( I used it @ Level 3; my husband used it at @ Level 3.5 ) I asked about the 2nd treadmill, she said it needed to be replaced.
Stayed here for 11 nights and it was like staying at home. Great internet and HDTV. Rooms are newer, clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. Plenty of plugins for all of my devices. Microwave and fridge. Breakfast was always fresh and there was never a shortage. Staff are all very professional and friendly. I was every choice property I stayed in was exactly like this!!!
My wife and I were in town for a spa weekend. We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. We really can't say anything we DIDN'T like about this hotel. The staff was nice and informative. The room (we had a suite) was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was good and hot (eggs, meat, hash browns or potatoes, waffles, etc). One interesting note: This hotel is located right across a side street from a combination movie theater/coffee shop/church.
The room was very clean and the bed pretty comfortable. The hotel is back off the road and it was very quiet. I didn't have time to use the pool but it looked very inviting! Parking was good but the lot was not very well lit. Breakfast was adequate and I would stay here again.
If you have to stay in Safford, then this is probably one of the better hotels. Comfort Inns are fairly basic, but this one is very clean and the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little basic, but adequate. Stayed here on a Saturday night and the only place to eat, across the main road closed at 9.00pm !!!!! The food and drinks were good value. But, 9.00pm on a Saturday, come on this is the 21st century not the dark ages !!!
Third floor has activity. My drawers kept opening on their own (I have video) When I called the front desk to ask them if anyone had ever died there, Maciel asked me if weird things were happening. When I mentioned yes, she had mentioned that drawers opening and closing have been reported and very politely asked me if I wanted another room. Upon check out the manager saw the notes and mentioned that they have had the third floor blessed twice but all it succeeded in doing was angering the spirit. No one ever died there so I believe that it is on or near sacred ground. At any rate a nice clean hotel with a friendly staff and if you are into spirits ask for the third floor. The ghosts are harmless and I stayed in the room. I simply asked it not to bother me and it obliged.
Check-in read good, room was nice and clean. We really enjoyed this hotel, except the breakfast. It's supposedly open till 9:30am, but when we got there just before 9, the bread selection was down to a biscuit and a handful of donuts, there was a bit of eggs left, but no sausage(the meat for the day). There were a few cubed potatoes, and they were "OK", and a bunch of shredded potatoes which looked defrosted but nothing more. No wonder there was a lot of those left. I didn't touch them either. About 10-15 minutes later they refilled the sausage patties and they were OK to. Then by 920 they started cleaning up the room and the breakfast. Chairs were put on the tables while people were still eating at the next table and with 10 minutes till breakfast supposedly closed. Next time we're in Safford we are hoping to see what else is available.
This was the only hotel I saw that did not have outside room doors. The entire facility was very modern, with clean rooms & halls. Breakfast was okay. Staff very helpful and friendly. I would have preferred more than one towel, but the one I had was full sized.
