After this stay I will not return. I have stayed here many times, and each time it feels more like a struugle. I have to lug my baggage down the steps and up the steps. This time the hall was blocked and I had to carry my heavy bags back up the steps and across the pool area to the bottom floor to get to my room which was closer to the center of the building

Best Western Plus Placerville is amazing-complimentary breakfast, complimentary coffee/tea in the reception area, has a well equipped gym with even a Peloton, a swimming pool where one can take a dip after a long day and a beautiful garden well maintained by Aquiles. Mary at the front desk was efficient and very helpful. No wonder this hotel is often fully booked.

Red flag warning, this place has no elevators! However, I was told they are installing them with a new construction project. I stayed with my daughter and dog. Because we had the dog, we were relegated to basically the basement of the property. This means we had to haul the dog and the luggage up and down two flights of stairs. Having been injured earlier this year, and now being 70, that was more than a little inconvenient for me. Not to say it was inconvenient for getting the dog outside to do his business. Hotels should understand that people with pets should be on the ground floor with easy access outdoors. Kudos to the hotel Handyman who helped us with our luggage our first day we were there.
