We were a group of 18 friends who meet every year in a centrally located hotel with a good restaurant. The hotel was decorated beautifully and was a great backdrop for our pictures. Rods steakhouse was delicious and our bedroom was quite comfortable.
We stayed at this hotel a few hours outside NYC heading to the port for a cruise, very nice area and hotel beautiful.
super stay. great staff clean quiet in busy time. great ammenities free breakfast and super retaurants
I had never stayed here before but my partner grew up in the area & had often eaten in the restaurant then (80s-90s). From the moment we both checked in, the staff was absolutely fantastic in meeting every request from help with questions to accommodating a late checkout to keeping the facilities in perfect condition with a real touch of home. The restaurant (Rod's Steakhouse) is absolutely to die for!!! The prix fixe menu for the early dinner special is unbeatable in terms of value and the food was mouthwatering to the point of not even being able to speak while eating or for several minutes afterwards (with the exception of unintelligible acknowledgments of perfection). Throughout the whole dinner, our waitress remained constantly engaged whenever we needed anything, but left us exactly the right amount of privacy for conversation. The Sunday brunch buffet is an ABSOLUTE MUST DO if you are going to be there. Seriously, consider yourself on report if you don't take advantage of this.
My husband and I had a wedding to attend nearby and booked a room two weeks in advance. When we got to the hotel after the wedding, they informed me they over booked and mistakenly gave our room away. I was really upset but they did everything to make it right. They arranged for us to stay at another nice Inn and arranged a taxi to bring us there. They paid for the taxi, the room, refunded our money and even presented us with a gift certificate to stay a night with brunch at their restaurant. Although it was an annoying situation to have happen, they made up for it and I am grateful that they value their customers enough to right a wrong. I'm excited to stay there in the future.
Only downfall there was a wedding loud music throughout night. My room was close to wedding upstairs. Also train station noise but that didn't bother me much. Other than that I loved it!
3.5 stars. Overall, pleasant for a quick stay. No complaints (except that it's not in walking distance of anything). The pool is nice but I wish there were a shower there. Breakfast staff seemed very nice.
I really like the hotel but our floor and room really smelled musty. We opened our window and that helped after a few hours, but it couldn't do anything for the hallway.
Beautiful sparkling lobby. Traditional decor - dark wood, brass, marble. Nice room, good mattress. Huge restaurant - in two sections a casual room and a large steakhouse type room. Nice neighborhood by old mansions and adjacent to nj transit convent station.
we have stayed at the madison a few times and have always found them to be a very good hotel.
The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean and very comfortable
This hotel was great. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Had we know that this hotel was across the street from the train station, which takes you into penn station in an hour we would have made our stay longer and taken advantage of the convience of the train. We will stay here again!!!!
Beautiful Hotel for the money! Room was very comfortable and had a very nice size bathroom. The New Jersey transit was with in walking distance of the Hotel which makes getting around very easy! Highly recommend!
We loved the Madison Hotel, it had Georgian charm and great food. We found ourselves touring the hotel and taking pictures instead of going out. Red Dog Tavern's shitake mushroom and brie flatbread was fabulous. We had a few issues with wireless in the room, but the staff sent someone up to fix and they offered to move us to another room.
We stayed at the Madison Hotel on Christmas night while visiting family in the area. The hotel is nice and was decorated for Christmas. The room was spacious and comfortable. The only criticism I have is cosmetic. The one thing that I wish the hotel would do is upgrade the carpet and wallpaper. It is a really nice hotel but the carpet and walls look tired and probably haven't been replaced in 30 years. The cosmetic issue aside, the hotel was very comfortable, the staff nice, and the price was right. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for an affordable hotel in the Morristown area.
Enjoyed the stay and the hotel. Had a good time at the halloween party in morrisville. A lot in the area to see and do. For smokers JR smoke shop is a must see.
We stayed this weekend at the Madison Inn in Madison,New Jersey to attend parent's weekend at a local university. We can't say enough about this hotel. For the price we would have paid at an average chain hotel, we got so much more. The building and decor are unique and magnificent. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The rooms are very clean, spacious, attractive, and comfortable. The continental breakfast was included in the very reasonable price. It was absolutely delicious with the pastries prepared by onsite chefs. Also has a large indoor, heated pool and hot tub and exercise room. Restaurant located in the hotel has award winning cuisine prepared by in house chefs but it is pricey.
The Madison Hotel could not have been in a better location. Close to Drew University and other surrounding attractions. The free parking, fitness center (although, some of the equipment needed repair), continental breakfast, pool and friendly staff made our experience very positive and we would certainly come back again. The bed and bedding were very comfortable and our King room was spacious. Far better than other chain hotels. The only really bad item was there was absolutely no recycling. Nothing. No paper, plastic or aluminum. We certainly frowned upon this, as NJ has a statewide recycling and the recycling center is very close by. We were simply stunned as there were no options what so ever. This is why the hotel received 4 stars.
Very comfortable rooms; however, had to change rooms this stay because the toilet was unstable and we were informed engineering could not fix in a timely manner. Otherwise this was a repeat visit and enjoyed our stay. Pleasant and attentive staff. Nice breakfast. Added feature is a very short walk to train station to get to the big city.
