This review is for both Executive Inn and Orbitz combined. I made a mistake and reserved the wrong evening. I opted to not get the refundable option because I was checking in that same evening (or so I thought). Two hours later, I found out upon arrival, that my stay was for 2 weeks later. The front desk staff told me I needed to deal with Orbitz for the cancelation/refund. I called right away, and requested that. They told me the hotel owner or manager would need to release my reservation to do so. Orbitz stayed in touch with me for a week and finally said they denied my request. I thought I would call the hotel myself. They told me to send an email and would relay the message. I never received a response after two attempts. Defeated, we decided to take the opportunity to go back up and stay that night. Front desk person was nice. I asked for a late check out (1 hour) and they said yes. The room was clean, but could definitely use a spruce up. Quite outdated. Our room was in the front (overlooking the parking lot) and it was NOISY! Traffic, and especially the car alarm that would get triggered every time a loud car passed by on the highway. It was annoying that the highway is one way and you have to go way down to turn back around. It adds 3-5 minutes to the commute. Not horrible though. Maintenance banged on our door in the morning as we were getting ready asking if we were running the water bc the room below us was getting wet. We were not. We won't stay again.

As frequent travelers staying here for a week, our first impression was that it was comfortable enough for the price. The room had been renovated, but still felt dated, with the original carpet badly in need of cleaning. The advertised pool was closed, and we also lost money in the Coke machine. After being told for three days that we would be refunded “tomorrow,” a very rude clerk finally handed us the $1.50 as though we were the problem, not their service, or the machine. To make matters worse, she insisted there was a number posted on the machine to call, but there wasn’t. It wasn’t about the small amount of money, it was a test of how service-oriented the staff really were, and they failed. They had the arrogance of a 5 star property, offering nothing better than what you would receive at a motel 6. Transportation into Manhattan was simple taking 2 buses to get across the GW Bridge, but getting back was a completely different story. Luckily, after the day one disaster of trying to connect buses, and finally catching an Uber, we were happy we had rented a car, to take us from the La Guardia airport to the hotel, which saved us a lot of time and hassle. Overall, we wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you don’t mind the extra cost and inconvenience of a car rental. Next time, we’ll spend the extra $500 for a nicer, more convenient stay in NYC where you shouldn't need a car. Otherwise we had a blast in the city!

Checked in, and left 20 minutes later! Hallways and room smelled of mold and smoke! Blood stains on curtains, rusty tub with dripping water and there were zero blankets on the beds! Everything about this place was disgusting and outdated! I took the $200. Loss I paid and promptly proceeded to get another room at a much nicer establishment! This business needs to be looked at by the health department! Any reviews that state otherwise are obviously made by bots or relatives of the owners! They should be ashamed of themselves!

I had a truly horrible experience at this hotel. They refused to honor my Expedia reservation, claiming they never received payment. When I arrived, the staff told me the “best option” was to rebook directly with them at nearly double the original rate, since it would now be considered a last-minute booking. Expedia tried to resolve the situation, but the hotel falsely reported that I was a no-show—even as I stood there in the lobby. I wasn’t the only one: while I waited (over two and a half hours), I saw several other guests being told there were “issues” with their Expedia reservations. The staff showed no concern, were completely unhelpful, and were rude in how they handled the situation. I was told they did have rooms but I would have to pay directly at a much higher rate, and I am sure they do that continuously because they get away with it. Not much else is around at a walking distance. In the end, Expedia refunded me, but that didn’t solve the problem of being stranded without a room. I ended up checking into the DoubleTree next door. Yes, it cost me twice as much, but the difference in service was night and day. The DoubleTree staff were professional, welcoming, and made my stay comfortable. If you’re considering this hotel, do yourself a favor and skip the Executive Inn entirely. Go straight to the DoubleTree next door—you’ll save yourself a lot of stress and actually be treated like a valued guest.
