Upon arrival we were given a room at a building that was older than the two main buildings, Catalina and Balboa. We requested a room change, which they agreed to do for an extra nightly charge. We stayed in the 3rd floor in the Catalina building. The hotel ambience was nice, with beautiful holiday decorations. The food and bar staff were awesome! Also, the room cleaner was wonderful. I was surprised when she called me by my name, addressing me with a "Miss" and my first name. She was friendly and sweet! Given all three amenities and location we would stay again.

Bedding was so bad. Pillows flat and hard, mattress same. Rooms have not been ulgraded in decades. We chose Hyatt because you can rely on a comfy bed and decent room. This was not that at all. However the staff was absolutely amazing.

We arrived on 11/14/25 and was assigned room 421 and woke up this morning to water dripping from the ceiling in the bathroom area. Very disappointed that we were assigned a room in the area of the building that has a history of leaking during rain storms. I feel we should be compensated for the 14th since the hotel is fully aware of the leaks during a rain storms The front desk was able to move us to a new room, 811.
