Not much more to say. I liked it. I'd stay there again.

Because of a major windstorm my flight into NY landed very late in the evening. No surburban transport to my residence was available. I searched the internet while I waited for my luggage for a reasonably priced hotel near where I once lived in NYC. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel (that must be fairly new) as I checked in at 1 am. When I checked out the following day, in my rush to make up for lost time, I left my ipad in the room. I called from the train home and the hotel staff had it and put it aside for my pickup on another day. Overall I had a very positive experience with this hotel.

The place looks beautiful with quirky decor, it smells great, and everyone falls over each other to help you and be friendly. The standard rooms are very small but the space is well utilized and immaculate. Bed was very comfy and the room was quiet even though only in the second floor. Be aware no elevators.

Over all it was good. No elevator. Had to take luggage 3 flight of stairs up to the room. Heater is very old and kept going out during the nights we were there. Room was very clean along with restrooms. Was expecting something bigger for 205 sq feet. But the pics on profile are not what they look like in real life. Those picture must be from the higher end superior rooms tgat they have. No view out the window, only brick wall. Great staff, location is amazing. Very hip and young crowd is around. Little italy 2 blocks away, chinatown is a few more down also.. SoHo is down the road. 3 subway lines within walking distance. Enjoy ur visit to NYC, not the room.

Everything about the hotel, the staff, and location is perfect Only down side is no elevator

The Sohotel really exceeded our expectations. The location was fantastic. It was close to multiple subway stops, close to Little Italy, Chinatown, and Soho. The decor in the hotel was great. The pictures showed an updated bathroom but it looks like we got one of the only bathrooms that hadn't been updated yet. We didn't mind not having an updated bathroom but my one suggestion would be to bring your own hairdryer if you stay here. Also, the rooms were really small but I didn't expect anything else for this price in NYC. We weren't spending much time in the room so the size wasn't a bad thing. There was no elevator in the hotel but the staff is very helpful getting your luggage up and down the stairs for you. Overall, the staff was extremely helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Actually, this should be 3.5 stars, but that doesn't appear to be an option. Pros: Location - it's hard to imagine a better location at this price-point. Walking distance to so many fabulous places Decor - Beautifully decorated common areas, and with the ongoing renovation work, you get the sense that the rooms themselves will follow. Free wifi Icy-cold AC! Did I mention the location? Cons: Yep, that's a mighty small room. But it's NY after all, so that's to be expected! However, the bathroom was exceptionally tiny. Honestly, I've never seen a smaller bathroom. Just barely usable. Old/worn bathroom fixtures - looks like it hasn't been updated in decades. Mold/mildew on the shower curtain. Probably original materials from a time before the hotel went "boutique". Needs updating pretty badly. All in all, the pros outweigh the cons, especially at the price. If you go in knowing what to expect, and don't plan to spend time in your room other than to sleep, you won't be disappointed!

Fabulous location, small but neat rooms, really great for a quick stop over in NYC! No food in the hotel except for a couple vending machines, but such a central location for great eats in Chinatown and Little Italy who cares?

I stayed there a few days ago and the location is great. The outside of the hotel looks cool too. But my room was a 4 flight walk up and there were no elevators. I don't mind the exercise but when its 3am and you want to just crash, walking up those flights are annoying. The room is the size of a closet. The bed was nice but there was no room for anything else. The bathroom was just as small. Not good for more then one person.

Walking distance to Little Italy. 10 minute walk to the subway. Rooms are small, which is typical for NewYork. Very clean. Hardwood floors. Air conditioner in room. Stuff was always available whatever was needed.

Hotel was in an awesome location and had a great feel and unique decor. The staff was also super friendly and extremely helpful!

The location of the SoHotel was great -- near NoLita, Little Italy and Chinatown. Close to the Spring Street Subway station and lots of little boutiques and bars/restaurants. But the room was uncomfortably small. There was NO closet and NO telephone in the room -- which I thought was strange. The bed (queen) took up the entire room and I found myself walking over it rather than around it because there was no space in between the walls and the bed. Overall, great location, but they need to make the rooms a bit more "livable". I understand rooms in NYC are typically small, but having traveled to the area for years now, this is by far the smallest room I have ever stayed in.

Basically, what I found was a hostel in a run down area of SOHO. There was no elevator, the floor was wet when we checked in and the noise within and outside the hotel was unbearable. To top it all off I ended up contracting scabies from the dirty linens in the hotel and am now being treated for the parasites by my physician.

The Sohotel is a dump. The location was not good , I would never walk outside this location at night. I would never reccomend this hotel to someone I liked. I would never stay in this sleazy roach motel again.

Given the short notice with which we made our reservation. This old converted hostel provided adequate accommodations. The day reception staff was a bit brusque and uncooperative, however with a little assertion on our part they provided our room prior to their usual check-in time. The night staff was most courteous and helpful; they provided an excellent reference for an authentic Little Italy dining experience.
