Super 8 by Wyndham New Castle

Not a nice area, not a nice property, bulletproof glass for the reception desk. LOL, choose another location.

The rooms were clean and felt newly renovated. However the lobby and common areas had an intense smoke smell. The hotel manger said it was due to smoking rooms above lobby. It was pretty bad we had to hold our breath as we walked through. their policy is no refunds and pay upfront. Luckily our room didn’t smell. But we would have walked out if availability of local hotels wasn’t an issue.

It was a nice room for the price.The staff was very nice. The room was clean.

Very convenient. Easy access from the highway. Clean rooms.

It satisfied my needs, and the price is good for me.

Location was perfect for my needs. Front desk staff was exceptional, at check in, and the room was exactly as booked. Room was unbelievably clean, despite being in some disrepair.

First the good stuff: Staff is friendly and efficient. Rooms are clean and recently refurbished -- new plumbing fixtures (although the toilet was installed incorrectly), beds, bedding, and HVAC. Oddly, the electrical was not upgraded, so the desklamp did not have an independent switch. The problem is location: immediately adjacent to a volunteer fire department. Thus, any time a fire alarm is activated in the area, you are awakened with a 110 dB siren just outside of your window. Perhaps, if you have a room on the east side of the hotel, you could sleep through it. However, on the west side, do not expect to sleep through the night.

We went to New Castle to take our cat to a specialty vererinarian. They held us up for $54.00 for keeping her in a cage for 1 night. The lights in the bathroom and on the desk did not work. The clerk was nice about geting them fixed. Beds were comfortable, but we would have felt better about them if we hadden't founf a prophylactic wrapper beneath one of them.

Although the motel was clean, i found the pillows to be extremely uncomfortable, even flat, which did not allow for a good night's sleep. On the plus side. there were many eateries within a short distance to choose from.

the towels could use fabric softener or a better brand thats softer they were like cardboard. yuck.... other wise the people running it were very nice and the hotel was clean didnt smell. like some small hotels do. i made the mistake of (on nascar weekend) booking a room with smoking not an non smoking room this hotel is 3 floors high so the smoking rooms are on the 3rd floor. i figured when i got there how bad could it be... well when i got off the elevator i practically gagged from the smoke smell it was that bad and they had the windows open this is not the owners problem its called everyone must have been smoking allot that occupied the smoking rooms and the hotel was full. so i went down stairs asked if there happen to be a non smoking room avail. and luckily there was only one left so they gave it to me. Yey! for customer service. Reason i mention this in review is because PEOPLE if u dont want to have a gagging smelly rm. in a small hotel such as this make sure you book a non smoking rm. i got lucky with a rm. chnge.

It takes some getting used to the highways there, so finding it was a small challenge, but the location was good for where I needed to be... straight shot to the beaches, easy access to PA and MD, etc. Plenty of restaraunts in short distance and walking distance to a couple useful places. It was clean, housekeeping was prompt & friendly, and the desk staff was very helpful. I'm not a hotel snob (they all look alike when you're asleep) so all in all I was satisfied with the place and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. One detail - it's next door to a fire depot, you may get an occassional siren.

Super 8 at New Castle, DE I have a bypass on my right leg, my room was on the third floor and the elevator was not working. This made my two days really hard to go up and down the stairs..the ice machine, Coke Cola machine and the sign out side of the hotel was not working, so you pass the place. I feel the place sould of been cleaner, the blinds in the lobby should not be so dirty and the walls in the place & rooms should not be showing the dirt..The Hotel really needs a serious maintenance up keep on every thing. If they had an up keep on the hotel it would of been a better stay. I would recommend to a friend but they need to keep it up.
