The room & parts of the hotel were heavily populated by frruit flies, which was unfortunate. The hotel, staff, & location were great otherwise.

Was very disappointed to stay there with an oceanfront view at an angle instead of direct view, which is what I paid for. The hotel was great but I only booked it to have morning coffee looking over the water.

The King Oceanfront room provides an excellent view of the ocean with the beach directly below. Bed and shower were both good. Refrigerator and microwave were provided. Very convenient place for the full beach experience.

The location is fabulous. Along with easy, free parking in the hotel garage . The staff in the lobby are friendly. The nice coffee machine in the lobby is fabulous. Tons of coffee options and all so good. We took our coffee and hot cocoa and sat on the back porch in rockers and watched the sunrise. The lobby is beautiful and tastefully done. The murals on the outside corridor are truly beautiful. We were supposed to be in a room with 2 queen beds, it was 2 doubles instead. We checked in late and ended up putting our stuff away and didn't want to deal with changing our room. The beds weren't very comfortable and it was noisy at night. But there was also a wedding going on. The bathroom sateen shower curtain had at least 30 large pulls all over it, it looks awful. The anti slip stickers in the tub are black and brown due to being dirty. On the web site this is described as deluxe bathrooms. The bathroom wasn't very clean, hair and sand. The furniture has a layer of dust. There were cobb webs in the corner of the room and a few spiders. The outside furniture was inside the room and was filthy. You are given one roll of single ply toilet paper. And lastly no ventilation in the bathroom. Bring your own cleaning wipes to quickly clean up. Lysol to sanitize and deodorize. Pack some toilet paper. Maybe a pillow or two. Some very simple housekeeping, along with replacing the shower curtain and tub stickers and this could be a nice stay.

We spent an overnight here in October. One thing we noticed right away was how clean and pleasant it smelt in the room. Not a heavy fragrance but like actual fresh linens. For our quick overnight it was a great choice. We could hear the waves crashing all night and were able to enjoy a fantastic sunrise in the morning before packing up and heading out.

The property was very nice, but we had some very serious issues, primarily a staff member entered by room while I was changing before checkout. Another staff member knocked early in the morning trying to enter my room to fumigate. The day before, no one tidied the room despite a door hanger and desk request. That only happened at 5pm after another desk request. When I spoke to the desk agent, she assured me that Henlopen would reach out about the staff members entering and trying to enter my room. No one did. I emailed about it, No response, I followed up twice. No response. They don't seem to care.
