The whole experience from the start was not for me. Parking was too far. Was not allowed to check in early, even though they had rooms ready.....but if you paid $50.00 extra, you could ckeck in early!!! REALLY!! Everything was about the $$$$. Trying to unload at the front entrance and being forced to use the concierge. Unable to use luggage cart by myself. Was not allowed to leave your car at the entrance unattended, but was told to park over in the "FIRE LANE DO NOT PARK" area while checking in at the hotel. Everything was about $$$$. Bad choice and will never stay at Bally's - Dover, DE.

I live 5hrs away and had been staying at Bally every weekend for several months because my mother was sick. Hotel staff didn't know but my mother had passed and I was checking in to attend her funeral this last stay. My room was upgraded to a spa suite the day of the funeral and I really appreciate the kindness shown to me. The rooms are always welcoming and just what I need after being on the highway for several hours.

The check-in staff in the late evening was not helpful, but my guess is he was only enforcing a bad policy by management. I asked for a late check-out of 1 hour, even 30 minutes would help, and he told me "sure... we can do that for a fee of $XX / hour". I asked again, "I only need 30 minutes, you can't make this complementary", but was told, "that will cost you $XX." I left without comment, but I was so angry I didnt even go into the cascino, and left the premise for dinner and to watch the football game. It would be different if this wasn't my 10-12th time staying here, or if I had been told that the room needed to be turned over quickly for the next guest. When the customer/guest feels taken advantage of... they vote with their feet. No need to argue, no reason to cause a scene. You have a bad policy, a bad employee, or both.
