Nothing to like. The place was dirty and in a very run down part of town. I did not feel safe staying there. I got a room with a jacuzzi tub but didn’t use it because I didn’t feel safe. Someone at the front desk called twice at 11pm waking me up very rudely and hung up without saying anything. I do not recommend this place AT ALL!!

Easy to get in and out. Stopped up sink, hot tub didn’t work

Super convenient location for going to the fair grounds. Worth it for the convenience and reasonable prices.

Short drive to Cannery Row, quiet room and property, and super helpful staff!

The queen standard room was not too shabby. Maybe having an upgrade will have a better experience. Overall, comfortable stay

nice motel clean noise fridge all nite long problem hot water from shower to sink dark dirty bad plumbing just one nite cleared after 10 minutes of running called front desk then never replied

I stayed in room/cottage 41 for a night. Very nice layout and lots of room with a full 70s retro-chic kitchen! Would definitely stay here again for a nice Monterey-area home base while exploring. Some gripes that, if fixed, would have made the stay perfect: had to wait 5-10 minutes for someone to show up in the office when I arrived @7pm, the ceiling fan and light were missing the remote in the main room and couldn't be turned on, neither of the two drink vending machines on site were operational, the TV in the main room was only showing a handful of channels so I had to use the menu to rescan for available digital channels (the TVs themselves were pretty difficult to browse channels - just had a streaming guide on one channel.) And finally, there was no plastic bag in the ice bucket so I used my own bag.

This hotel was well priced. The staff were very nice and the room was very clean.

Monterey was one of our stops driving along the PCH. A little over 1 mile from downtown. Person working front desk was pleasant. Set up late check-in just in case since front desk closed at 11pm. Called and spoke with staff member who explained late check-in process and sent email with instructions. Even encouraged to call after 15min if no email was received. Ended up arriving before front desk closed and check-in was easy. Plenty of parking on the lot. Found a spot right in front of our room. Room was definitely on the older side with the colors and bedding. Bathroom was a bit small. The door into the bathroom and the shower door opened into each other. Fridge in the room which was a plus. There was a coffee pot too but it had no filter. They provided Starbucks grounds in the rooms. Room didn't have a thermostat but a heater in the wall for the cold night. Check out was fast. Just left our keys in the room and drove off. Hotel room was a little bit pricier than what it offered.

Booked the king executive suite room for a nice Valentine's day getaway with my girlfriend. We arrived about 15 minutes before check and were greeted by a kind young woman who informed us our room had just been finished and was ready for our arrival. While unpacking we hear a humming/buzzing coming from the wall that is loud enough the TV had to be turned on and at max volume to drown it out. We assumed it was the washing machines the maids were using next door. Left for the day and came back about 9:30PM. The humming was still prevalent. Fast forward one hour and I am beginning to get a migraine from the constant hum. My girlfriend calls the front desk and he (different person from earlier) rudely dismissed her claims and told her nothing could be done about it. I walked up to the front desk a little irritated at this point, as we spent $175 to sleep in separate beds and no hot tub in room like we paid for. He told us we can have a standard room with 2 full beds that will be much quieter, and it's almost time for him to leave so he has to go, so of course we took the room. Morning rolls around and it's time to talk about getting a refund for my second night. The OWNER told me i am being relocated and she will not refund me, even though it's before 9am and their fault I don't want the new room for the same rate. Orbitz got my refund for me. I also didn't get comped for not even being able to use my hot tub suite. DO NOT STAY HERE. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.

We had a wonderful stay. The rooms very clean, spacious and comfy. Very easy parking - right in front of your room. The beds were comfortable. Very close to the main attractions in Monterey and Carmel. Also conveniently located near gas stations, markets, etc. Some nice offerings inside (coffee, tea, etc). We had a wonderful stay, nothing to complain about. Would choose again without doubt.

Stayed four nights for reunion and sights in monterey. Staff greeting was pleasant and room was back from office as requested. Nostalgic feel with car parking in front of room unlike some where you need a shuttle(almost) to get to car. Overall was good stay! But ...two things of mention. For two of the nights there was an irratating beep beep sound coming from outside the hotel (never got an answer as to what it was) going for hours after 10 pm that disturbed a good rest😞. Lastly, and maybe not so bad for some, the sheets smelled strongly of bleach. For me it was not a good nightly companion but I certainly felt the place was sanitized well 😊

My wife and I stayed here one night before our visit to the Monterey Aquarium. We had a "queen plus kitchen" which was like a little cottage with a well-tended little garden on the side. The price was great (I can't post the rate here but it was pretty low for what we got in my opinion). There was parking just a few steps from the front door. There was an ice machine close by. The kitchen was well appointed, with a big refrigerator, stove, utensils and even a can & bottle opener. Checkout time at noon was nice because we got in late and slept in a little. A couple of small criticisms: 1) Raising the thermostat setting didn't give us any heat (although we didn't need much heat and the fake fireplace did the job nicely) and 2) the shower had no shelf to put soap and shampoo on. All in all this place really exceeded our expectations.

We decided to stay here due to the very good ratings. It was nice, clean, and convenient however it is really just a nice motel. It is still somewhat dated and on a busy and somewhat sketchy street. The rooms aren't very large and the overall could use a remodel. But it was clean and not too expensive. Don't expect a fancy hotel (which the ratings put in similar company). For this type of motel, it would have been nice to have a free continental breakfast too. Next time may choose to stay at a motel that does.

Enjoyed our stay, the hot tub, and the surroundings without the big price. Would definitely stay here again

Clean rooms comfy bed excellent staff not traffic noise good parking

This is a motel without the "motel" feel. It was convenient to be able to park right outside your room. There were flowers and nice landscaping throughout. The location, although nothing special itself, was convenient, being within a 5-10 minute drive of most major attractions like the Fisherman's Wharf, Aquarium, 17 Mile Drive and Cannery Row. We arrived right at check in time and the housekeeper was just finishing up our room. When we peeked in, she was literally on her hands and knees scrubbing the bathroom floor. Everything was clean and somewhat updated. There were a few fresh flowers in a vase on the desk. There was a remote-controlled ceiling fan, which was nice for sleeping. The bathroom had a window, which is unusual for hotels and provided nice natural light. The price was very reasonable. If you are looking for a luxury hotel right on the water, this is not it, but if you are looking for a nice place to stay that is a short drive from most things you'd want to see, this is it. I would definitely stay there again.
