They charge $15 a day for parking, other than that the staff is nice and accommodating and my stay was pleasant.

Evening reception was great. Long line for the bartender - get that guy some help!! Breakfast was perfect!

Property is very nice looking but not so great beneath the surface. The thermostat didn’t work in our bedroom so it was hot and stuffy the entire time. No matter how low we turned it, it would not kick on. One of the lights didn’t work in our bedroom. What’s with the full length windows to the inside of the building? No thank you! One sink in the women’s bathroom was broken. The lines were ridiculous at breakfast. Took them forever to find us a crib even though we had called to request it says in advance.

They used to have a nice large hot tub in the facility. Last year when we were there they were redoing the pool. Was so excited to be able to warm up in the hot tub after a busy day only to discover that it was cemented over and the adjacent pool was kind of cloudy and full of kids. They did not address the high noise levels in the pool area with any kind of acoustic buffer with the remodel either. All the decor in the rooms and common areas are gray & dark blue. I'm sure it is an attempt to modernize and keep in synch with the ocean theme, but with black flooring and gray, dark blue carpets, it is actually somewhat depressing unlike it used to be when they had plants, water and interesting coy fish. Oh well, I'm sure in 5-7 years they will trend into something a bit more upbeat. There were no trash cans in the common areas around the elevators, so people piled up pizza boxes with left over pizzas, chip bags, soda containers and dirty napkins. Quite unsightly but there was not any apparent or readily available places to put the items if you did not want to keep them in your room, so then we all had to look at it. Also the wifi is not free and your room will be charged. The wifi log in does not tell you this though, so my kids just assumed it was free. The staff was nice at check in & the breakfast was delicious, but it did not entirely make up for some of the short falls & the high price.

The personal on the front desk were very helpful.

air conditioning in room did not cool. The free breakfast is a crowd battle. This facility is not set up for the crowds that they have. the staff was not kind and unwilling to help.

The location is pretty great. The suite we had was deluxe and came with free snacks and drinks. The lobby and room were very clean. The manager’s special was nice with a variety of free drinks to choose from at the bar. The snacks were basic, such as carrots, celery, ranch, chips, salsa, and popcorn, but they did the trick. Unfortunately, the pool is way too small, but on the flip side, at least in the late evening there are 2 hours of pool time that are designated adults only! Also, next door is In n’ Out Burger for a quick bite.

$14 car parking is just too much for here in Monterey!

Our room had an unpleasant, musty odor (like body odor). The shower had black mold and pink slime in it. The bathroom sink and vanity area was organized but also unclean. Room service did not answer their phone. However, the buffet breakfast was good.

Made to order pancakes and breakfast was good. Not enough luggage carts.

Great room! Good breakfast and nice complementary afternoon snack.
