The hotel has a subway in it. Good/ bad Not good during a pandemic to have lot’s of people from other hotels coming in and out for subway.. hotel had no microwave anywhere, ice machine doesn’t work you have to go to subway for ice, elevator very old and only holds 3 people, room door doesn’t close all the way unless deadbolts, they never answer phone at front desk so you have to go downstairs every time you need to speak with someone
The staff is awesome and so friendly. The bedding was clean and comfortable. Within walking distance of the beach. They had a book at the front desk with local activities. The property is charming but the rooms need updating. Bathroom... no water glass, soap dish, heat lamp, a patched ceiling (many) a bathroom ceiling fan with no switch. No clothes closet but a metal bar attached to the wall with 5 hangers. 3 dresser drawers are broken. No luggage rack, guide to the front desk, Cable guide, pool, hot tub or dining room. A Subway shop on the ground floor. Not close to restaurants.
The only thing 8 did not like was it did not have vending machine, or ice machine. Or coffee down stairs. You had to purchase everything from subway
Hotel close to mid miami beach, 200 m to the sea. There is no parking and breakfast included in our offer. Room is average, not very big for 3 people. Bathroom was in good condition, but we had an issue with toilet since it clogged and we add to ask for a plunger at 5 am. We reported to the staff and issue was fixed during the day. Hotel offers complimentary beach towels. I was expecting more given the price payed (150€/night).
Awesome front desk staff. Vary helpful with finding parking and getting us in our room as soon as he could. This is a budget friendly hotel. Older and it shows. Room was as clean as could be. Bed was clean and comfortable shower pressure rocked. Great location. Close to beach and can Uber just about any place for 5-6 bucks.
The hotel is small and the rooms are small and old. The bathroom needs upgrading. No microwave in the rooms
Unless you like walking up six flights of stairs you will have to take the elevator from hell you can't be sure if you will make it to the top tiny and very creepy. The service there is not good and if you want you room a little early plan on paying an extra $25.00. Would never stay there again.
Very outdated, I realize that the place is historical however it looked warn out and in need of some renovation. The elevator I was told breaks down trapping people inside from time to time so made me nervous to take it. The front desk receptionist very pleasant, however the rest of staff acted as if we were invisible and the cleaning lady even tried coming in to clean early morning even though we had the do not disturb sign on our door. We had friends staying as well and one friend slipped on the tile steps in lobby splitting her head open and needed to be rushed to the hospital. The hospital told her she would need to stay in hospital for several days due to injury and management of the hotel assured the husband he could stay an additional night in his room while he went back and forth to hospital. He visited wife in hospital only to come back to find they had packed up his belongings and moved him out of room, all of his bags were sitting in lobby so they could give it to someone else. They said it was not there fault she slipped and fell and told him to find accommodations elsewhere. I hope he sues them. They did not honor anything they told him and were in such a rush to get him out so they could make money off the room. There were people coming in from the beach all wet and tile was slippery I even told my children to use caution going up and down the steps. I would never recommend this hotel.
Close to the beach, They don’t tell guests about the no friends or family after 11:30 pm in your room, the a/c is blasting in the dirty hallway, The room carpet was horrendous, room smelled and they charged me 100$ for early check out! Tourist Trap.
Made a special request which was granted in minutes.
It was convenient, close to the beach, very quiet at night. Only complaint is about the food smell in the lobby area.
Graveyard hotel staff was nice and pleasant, we enjoyed our time!
Very rude staff ... elevator stopped working day one was fixed shortly thereafter however wasn’t a great first impression .. room was outdated ..
Excellent location. Poor parking. Aged and dated small lobby. Can use some upgrade to elevator. Very comfortable beds.
Rooms alittle outdated and needs some updating, and elevator is extremely slow and inspection expired 1 yr ago. [ it may have passed this year but the old inspection certificate is in elevator ]. Room was very comfortable, bed was comfortable, had view of a waterway, ac was ice cold. For the money i paid it was well worth it.
The hotel very old elevator doesn't work and no hot water in the shower
Has an old school renaissance feel for decor. It felt like Antarctica all the time even with the air condition off, but that was the only negative.
The hotel is OK for the price. Most other reviewers are correct: very old building, paper thin walls, poor insulation around the guest room door, small rooms, hotel lobby smells with subway food, and you can forget about the elevator. However, our room was clean, bed was comfortable, and hotel was in perfect location, close to everything. They have no resort fee that most other properties charge around there and very reasonable early check-in and late check out fees. In other words the ratio between price and value is good -- you get what you paid for. If you have extra $$ and looking for a hotel experience, stay somewhere else. If you are there for the beach, then it is a decent choice for you. Just remember that you are saving money staying there and that if hotel figured out ways to address all the issues they have, they would double their prices. It is very basic, but it works if you are planning short beach escape.
