If you are thinking about renting a car in Miami Beach, then you may have a few questions before you get booking. Here we answer some of the most important ones.
You will need to be at least 20 years old to rent a car, although some companies ask that you are 21. You may need to pay a young person’s surcharge if you are aged between 20 and 24.
You usually have two options when it comes to fuel. Some companies will give you a choice, while others have a single policy. You may get asked to pay upfront for a tank of fuel at the time of collection. This is a prepaid fuel option. You then simply return the car with whatever fuel is left in the tank. Alternatively, you may get asked to leave a fuel deposit and to return the tank full.
You will need a valid driver’s license in your name. If your license is not in English, you will need to obtain an International Driver’s Permit before you arrive in Miami Beach.
Many car rental companies don’t ask for a deposit upfront. You pay the damage deposit and rental fee at the time of collection.
