This property is used by the city of Merced as a homeless hostel and a good portion of the rooms are red flagged as uninhabitable by the city. Do not recommend this dumpster any price.
The staff was very nice . The property was dirty and there was so many roaches.
I used to stay at this hotel frequently. It was never the nicest place around, but it did the job. It has changed into a noisy, gang and drug fueled dump. Not only is it unsafe, everything is old and rundown. My door did not lock because (as the front desk person said) the owner does not changebthe batteries. I was finally allowed a room with a lock. I do not recommend.

The hotel is old and I was hoping it was well kept. The carpets in the stairwells were very dirty and stained. It smelled really bad like cigarettes and marijuana. The lobby was basic and clean. The rooms carpet was very old and when I checked in I had to keep choosing another room 6 times to find one that was clean and comfortable enough to sleep and stay in. I would not stay there again

First off.....asked to check in an hour early days before. Got there and was told rooms weren’t ready and had to sit and wait an hour. Got into room and it smelled terrible and floors were dirty. Smelled cigarettes in the air. Supposed to be non smoking area. 😕 The room was supposed to have a microwave....it didn’t. I needed one. Had to walk to lobby with our food to use it. Also no phone in room. Beds were comfortable I will say that. There were cockroaches running all around in the bathroom. So gross. Also the A/C clicked on and off continuously so most of the time I had to turn it off. I have friends that need to rent a block of rooms at a hotel and planned to recommend this place. That’s definitely no more.
Place is Diiiiiirty. I asked for an hour early check in. Got there and rooms weren’t ready. Waited in lobby for an hour. Got into room and there was no microwave or phone in room like stated in amenities. I was relying on microwave. Floors were dirty. There were several cockroaches in the bathroom running around. Air conditioner clicked on and off Continuously so I had to for the most part leave it turned off. Pool was closed but other pools at surrounding hotels were open. I have friends that is supposed to rent a block of rooms soon and planned to tell them to stay there. That is no longer.
For its age its not the best but staff were willing to help. Just the Hotel option wasn't good.
i tried cancelling this booking within 1 hr of having made it. Both Orbitz and he hotel would not confirm my 3 requests to cancel. The hotel refused to acknowledge my request because upon a direct call 3x because I used Orbitz and told me that I had to go through Orbitz. Now here I am responding to a inquiry on how I liked my stay. What the #$#@ type of business is this. I was totally disafied with Orbitz and this hotel. Again, I did not even show up and expect not to be charged.
Great value for money however we didn't receive clean bath towels for the second night
