I could not stay here because my credit card expired and my sister booked a dorm bed for me by her credit card on Agoda. When I arrived, the receptionist (her name is Erica) asked me to wait and asked the manager because I could not show the credit card I used to book. I tried to explained them that Agoda allows people to book for someone else. She said that it was the hotel’s policy. However, the policy did not appear on the hostel’s info on Agoda but only after you already booked. Erica said I could pay to stay there but I didnt want to pay twice. She canceled my reservation and I asked her what reason she chose to cancel it. She said she just canceled it without writing anything why. I was very tired after a lonh flight but I was there and asked her to give me some proof that I showed up but I was not allowed to stay here because I couldnt show them my sister’s credit card. I need a proof to show Agoda to claim the money back. She asked the manager about my request and after a few minutes, she was back, telling me that the manager could not work now and only worked tomorrow. The receptionist was supportive but the manager was not. You can consider staying there because of the location. Otherwise, choose another one with better customer service.
This hostel is an a very bad area. Most of the clientele are people staying for free because they couldn’t afford the 20$ a night. There is a sign above front desk about this. So you can imagine the quality of people staying there. Please ladies, I’m writing this for you since employees enjoy writing fake 5 star reviews and deleting negative ones at least off of FB. Please for your own safety stay somewhere else.
I always stay at The Cat when I’m in Vegas, and have done again this time. Highly recommend 10/10. Great hostel, great location. Fun outings, good social vibe- best place for a solo traveler or a group looking for an amazing Vegas trip
The room was clean and really small. The A/C was loud and the staff could not really give proper advice (e.g. about grocery stores etc.). If you are concerned about your safety, better sleep somewhere else: The hostel is beside a strip club and there are a lot of homeless people in this area. You need 20-30 minutes to the strip with the bus. The blankets came without a sheet, so bring your own blanket. The pillow was hard. The free coffee just has been reheated from the day before and water costs 3$ a bottle. We did the early check-out and had to pay 10$ extra, because „we didn‘t bring both keys back“, even though we did. When we wrote an email to the hostel, explaining the incident, we only got a very rude answer back and they called us by the wrong names. The kitchen was nice though and there is plenty of space to store your food there or in the fridge.
rooms are set out like little cabins in a large courtyard. there's usually allways something social to do every night. rooms have A/C and the Wifi is pretty good. they have a good sized kitchen dining and lounge area with netflix staff are fellow backpackers that work for their stay. but they were all pretty friendly. if i was needing a cheap good hostel to stay in vegas, i would come stay at hostel cat again.
EXTREMELY small room, 3 bunk beds in about 100 sq feet while Sin City put 4 bunk beds in about 400 sq feet of space. Previous occupant had left a plastic bottle that had been used as a urinal in one of the lockers. I had no trouble locating it while the staff obviously couldn't. The parking is unsecured in a sketchy looking area. It seems room 22 is reserved for people who may not be cool enough to mix with the other guests. The worst hostel experience of the 4 continents where I have used hostels.
I don't even know where to start... The check in process is super long. All the receptionists that I met, were really unfriendly and they seem to prefer white travelers, which I am not. Sorry. I asked them for help with something and after a few days, it was still not taken care of. How about the rooms? Dirty, smell like pee, bathrooms also dirty, probably the only good thing is that the AC worked. Then, just to 'enhance' the experience, they would not give my deposit back because I told the receptionist I will write a honest review about the place.
Very friendly staff, good beds, clean showers, nice kitchen where you can just cook your own meal and enjoy company from others and a nice common room. The AC was working just fine and the atmosphere was amazing, just a good vibe from a nice place and helpful staff. Would go back there just to meet the nice people again.
Yes it's a hostel and yes it's a 20 min bus ride away from the glitz and glamour of the MGM and New York New York. But Hostel Cat is the perfect stay for travelling young adults who want to stretch their Vegas budget as far as possible while meeting like-minded people from all over the world. The daily activities that the hostel organises make it easy for individuals to get involved in a wide range of events including pool parties, night clubbing, Grand Canyon tours and, of course, visiting the hottest late-night-talent Vegas has to offer. The accomodation itself is humble, but still provides all the necessities including Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a shared kitchen, washing machines, plus vending machines for snacks + drinks. If you want to spend every day at your Vegas accomodation without leaving the casino or buffet, book a hotel on the Strip. But if you're an active and friendly person who wants to meet other young people and would rather spend their money on activities, drinks and shows; Hostel Cat is for you.
First of all, this hostel is no a European standard. When I first arrived at the hostel my though was "what the heck am i doing here?" but it was 1:20 am after a delayed flight. So, this was my first time on a hostel in US and I have to say that they have a lot to improve, but they have a AMAZING staff so instead of give 3 stars i'll give 4 because of the staff. The hostel have great beds even for me a 6.7 tall, but they don't have USB power outlet or lights on beds. The sheets as clean, and the AC was ok for a 42º Celsius. location is not the best, but is easy to go anywhere, you will find a 7eleven on the corner what is very helpful. the directions on the site need to be modified because the stop that they say doesn't exist, and the bus from airport is just till 12:00 pm. In my opinion the lockers are o small, but you can led with it. So Briefly the hostel is ok the price is fair the staff is Amazing, mainly Luiz (helpful guy) but they need to invest money on this place, I would go back but i really hope they put some money on it.
