Liked the location by Fremont Street. Easy to get to driving South. Parking was $5.00 but Valet was free. Wish I would have known that as we didn't find out until I asked about parking on check in. We could have moved the car but felt like too much effort. $5 was good though, you get a pass so you can come and go as you like, otherwise it's like $13 for a 24 hour period. Comfortable room, well laid out, glad there was a fridge. Bathroom was a little small (toilet, shower area) but was fine for a couple of nights.

Great staff, clean room, great breakfast buffet and price.

California Hotel is a downtown favorite of mine. Not a large hotel. Friendly people, good restaurants. Good table games and slot machines. Feels like you're in Hawaii.

Trying to sleep from 10:00 pm, but loud rock concerts till 1:00 am every night, loud jack hammering starting at 7:30 am and cold AM showers 2 days in a row was a very irritating, unpleasant and disappointing experience. Never going back.

This was my first time going to Las Vegas and the location of this hotel was perfect for a first timer. It is about a block away from Fremont St, the old part of Vegas. There was still a LOT going on, but from what we understood was a little bit less chaotic than the main strip. The room was nice and clean, and the staff were all friendly.

Great! Good location, convenient to everything. Good local food in market street restaurant. Overall, great stay.

One of the pit bosses was a real jerk. His name is Lee. I'll make sure if we visit there again that if we encounter him we wont be playing where he is at!

If you want to be right on the strip, this hotel is not for you. However, if you are okay with being a little distant then take perfect. Great room and staff and we had a blast. Only thing was the room service is only for breakfast and we ordered coffee like an hour before we planned to leave and it didn’t even get to our room on time. But other than that this hotel is great and I will definitely stay there again!

Stayed for Life is Beautiful. Location was very convenient for the concert. Bartenders were all very nice too

Hotel was great enjoyed the senior folks from Hawaii. Food was reasonable and good, loved the morning buffet. Real close to the Fremont experience without the extra charges. Parking was great as well with no charge for guests.

Room was very nice, spacious and comfy. Nice bathroom. Giant TV. Valet parking free for guests. You have to pay for in-room WIFI but there's no resort fee so still much cheaper than other hotels where you have to pay a resort fee.

The hotel staff were very helpful and very courteous.

Room had an odd smell to it. Friends staying in a room on the same floor had the same.

Best time ever!Aloha Spirit.Clean renovated rooms and awesome staff.

The room was clean and safe. It was quiet in the hallway. You can play Keno on the TV in the comfort of your room. Hotel parking lot is very close by. The walk over the bridge (indoor) to the buffet was nice and the Buffet for dinner was not too expensive. The Fremont street was interesting, filled with shops and street performers. You really felt that you were in a hotel.

I 've been reserved a room with one king bed and the moment of checking they say that only rooms with two beds.

Overall it was a great experience. The only thing that would have been great is a coffee maker in the room. However that would not prevent me from staying there again. Great staff, great room and overall great experience.

It is a cozy older hotel. Much loved. Great buffet for breakfast or dinner. The down side was just the bathroom area. Chunks of mold literally ...around the tub, and worse around the tub drain...which didn't drain. Also, no fan in the toilet tub area, ugh. The room was otherwise super clean and beds and bedding very comfy.

First all upon check in, I stood first in line with nobody at the counter and without any acknowledgement from the two staff members behind the counter for 5 minutes. When they called me to the counter and was about to give me my room (I booked 2) they told me I would have one room in one tower and the other in another tower. I told them that wouldn't work. I requested adjoining rooms as I had brought my Mom with me who needed help and that's who the other room was for. The girl kept saying there's nothing I can do. Then the other girl calls out, "what do they want"? So then she was able to get us on the same floor next door to each other. I called for a working hair dryer at 7:00am the next morning so that we could get ready to be on our way. It never came so I needed up going to my Moms room to use hers. We were gone the entire day till 5:00 and when we got back our room hadn't been cleaned or made up. We had no frech towels to shower. I called the Director who gave me a load of excuses and said he would have someone come up right after we hung up. 30 minutes later they finally showed up. We had a birthday dinner to attend so I had to borrow towels from my Moms room next door who's room was made up earlier that day. The next day we were gone all day till 4:30 or so and mug to my surprise when I got back to the room to shower and freshen up our room was not made up again. i will never stay here again!!

Seems lots of money was spent renovating the hotel casino but they missed an important feature/air quality...so much cigarette smoke. This is not a healthy environment for healthy people or people with respiratory ailments.
