Love the Hawaii feel an food! Some staff in lower restaurant need to be trained an watched better.

Everything all clean everyday!!!...always keep clean everyday clean and look great 👍

I've stayed at California in the past before the renovation. I really love what has been done to the hotel. Love how everything is brightened up from the rooms to the casino and lobby.

Hotel was well maintained and room was modern and in excellent condition. Daily maid service was flawless. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I arrived before noon and they were able to provide me with an early check in. My only disappointment was that the hotel did not have a jacuzzi but overall, I had an excellent experience and I'll definitely stay at the property again.

Excellent. Only one recommendation, check the beds. One bed was soft the other bed was solid.

Good stay, nice staff. Cozy and clean room. Will come back.

Great accommodations and great restaurants! The staff was extremely friendly and service was excellent. I will definitely be staying there on my next visit!

BEWARE - I reserved a non-smoking room with a king sized bed. I got to the hotel at 9:30am, hoping for an early check in, willing to wait for the room I reserved. I was informed that there are NO non-smoking, king bed rooms available AT ALL for that night. When I questioned the unavailability of the type of room I reserved, I was told that there are NO GUARANTEES for the room you reserve. I looked all over both their own website as well as Orbitz, and if there is anything stating you might not get the room you reserve, I couldn't find it. If I had known I wouldn't get a non-smoking king room, I would not have stayed there, which is probably why they don't tell you that. Bait and switch if I ever saw it. On top of not getting what I reserved, she stuck us in a room by the elevator, with a view of the next building. I normally wouldn't have cared about that, but at that point, it was adding insult to injury. The bathroom in the room was tiny. So small that it was hard to close the door if you were in the bathroom, and my husband and I are not big people. There was a light bulb that was burnt out & when we called the desk, we were on hold for 5 min before we hung up and found a maid Also know that you will be charged a resort fee upon leaving, although I can't figure out what constitutes it being a resort, unless it was the tiny pool they had. There wasn't even a jacuzzi. To be fair, the location is convenient, right next to Fremont, and the rooms were updated and clean.

Hotel room was comfortable although on the smaller side. Facilities were modern, clean and well laid out. This hotel I believe had the lowest resort fees and I received a breakfast buffet for two for the stay. Great value.

We called ahead for an early check in and they were happy to put us in a room that was ready in advance of the actual published check in time. Awesome.

Good hotel experience staying here. Check in was quick, staff was very friendly & accommodating. I would recommend staying in the area with higher floors as bathrooms are larger and noise levels are better. Disappointed with valet parking since every time we pulled our car in, no on ever came out of the booth to take our car so we had to self park each time (which was an easy process btw). Rooms are modern & clean, except for carpets & bathroom vents which could use a good cleaning. This hotel now has a resort fee, but we booked prior to so didn’t have to pay this time. Overall a good experience, great downtown location & good value for the money.

Liked the location by Fremont Street. Easy to get to driving South. Parking was $5.00 but Valet was free. Wish I would have known that as we didn't find out until I asked about parking on check in. We could have moved the car but felt like too much effort. $5 was good though, you get a pass so you can come and go as you like, otherwise it's like $13 for a 24 hour period. Comfortable room, well laid out, glad there was a fridge. Bathroom was a little small (toilet, shower area) but was fine for a couple of nights.

Great staff, clean room, great breakfast buffet and price.

California Hotel is a downtown favorite of mine. Not a large hotel. Friendly people, good restaurants. Good table games and slot machines. Feels like you're in Hawaii.

Trying to sleep from 10:00 pm, but loud rock concerts till 1:00 am every night, loud jack hammering starting at 7:30 am and cold AM showers 2 days in a row was a very irritating, unpleasant and disappointing experience. Never going back.

This was my first time going to Las Vegas and the location of this hotel was perfect for a first timer. It is about a block away from Fremont St, the old part of Vegas. There was still a LOT going on, but from what we understood was a little bit less chaotic than the main strip. The room was nice and clean, and the staff were all friendly.

Great! Good location, convenient to everything. Good local food in market street restaurant. Overall, great stay.

One of the pit bosses was a real jerk. His name is Lee. I'll make sure if we visit there again that if we encounter him we wont be playing where he is at!
