Small hotel, quiet and cozy. Has an outdoor bar, stays pretty busy, but you can't hear any noise in the room. Just a few steps away from the beach; restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Staff was friendly.
Thought we would stay here based on the location. First room we stayed in we did not sleep the whole night because the air conditioner was not working properly and it was very hot. They moved us to a different room which they said was an upgraded room. It did appear nicer upon first appearance. Went to get in bed that night and there was a flying bug in the bed. Shower and bathroom had tiles that were just put over previous tiles and under the sink was never even finished. Woke up in the morning and there was a dying roach on the floor and some sort of bug/varmint droppings on the desk and I had 3 bites on my shoulder. Door to the room would not even latch if you did not slam the door, luckily I always check by pushing on the door. Supposedly they have take away breakfast available but when we went in to the office in the mornings we were never reminded of that or offered it. For the money we paid I would never stay here again and definitely wish I would have chosen One Ocean for about the same price for my stay.
What can I say about the Seahorse but I love this little place. This is a go to everytime I have family in town or just want to get away and feel like I am on a mini vacation. I live locally but have family that visit from other states. My home is small and cannot accommodate my guests comfortably so we always choose the Seahorse. I like it's retro feel and the fact that all rooms face the ocean. It is not fancy but always clean and the staff is very friendly. The pool area is beautiful with a lovely manicured grassy area with a outdoor lounge furniture. The beauty of staying here is there is so many restaurants in walking distance. And then there is the Lemon bar that is connected to the hotel . It was voted one of the best beach bars in Florida.
My family stayed here recently during a vacation to Florida. I booked our room months ahead of time but, upon arrival, our reservation had been altered. They had my family of 4 in a room with one king bed. Fortunately, I had the email confirmation showing that I had booked a room with 2 doubles and, with some persuasion, they managed to switch our room. The room was very small. By the time all 4 of us were in the room with our luggage, we could barely move around. The room had clearly been renovated somewhat recently and, on the surface, looked nice. However, the floors and beds were sandy upon arrival. We had to ask them to change our sheets. The pool area was clean and nice. The direct, private access to the beach is fantastic. The Lemon Bar is a fun place to get a drink but, beware, it is loud at night and you will be able to hear it in your hotel room. While the hotel is a great value for a beach front property, we would not choose to stay here again.
Very nice older property with direct access to the beach. They have a nice pool with outside bar and the entire place has been remodeled. They did a great job. Rooms are nice and all look on the pool and you are just a few steps from the beach. Restaurants abound within easy walking distance. Ladies in reception are friendly and helpful, with suggestions for your dining pleasure. Listen to them.
The hotel was a cute little place, nicely remodeled, and pretty clean!! I would stay there again! The distance from the rooms to the beach is very convenient and a nice beach as well!! The Lemon Tiki Bar was an added bonus great food ,and not too shabby drinks, was a very busy happening place!!!
This place is right on the Atlantic. Very clean and moderately priced. Right by The Lemon Bar which has friendly service and good burgers. You can walk to fine or casual dining. Park your car and leave it.
This is one of the best ocean front motels you can get in the Jacksonville beach area, period. All rooms have a balcony facing (horse shoe) the ocean which is 200 feet from the hotel. The Lemon Bar next to the pool is very active and on the weekends it is packed with a live band (this might be a distractor for some: kids etc). The pool is kidney shaped and very clean and nice. I would highly recommend for all (but realize there is the Lemon Bar with a live band).
Sea Horse is well maintained and has been updated without spoiling the charm that makes it so special. Rooms have lovely views, and the location is outstanding. You are literally at the beach and also, on the other side of the building, across the street from many fine restaurants and shops. Terri, the manager, and her staff, do an A+ job of listening to guests, advising them, and seeing to the day-to-day upkeep of the Sea Horse. The Lemon Bar, a restaurant that is part of the hotel, is a top-rated Florida spot, huge and right on the water. We've stayed at Sea Horse three times, and we'll be back!
Seahorse Oceanfront Inn was a fabulous place for our trip. They recommended a guy to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the Inn. There was no need to rent a car. The beach was just a short walk and there were several restaurants in walking distance to us. We walked a few times to the Walgreens to get water and snacks too. The only drawback on this trip was that the pool was under renovation and was closed. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The price was reasonable as well especially when compared to nearby competitors.
