The Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon

I heard this hotel was recently re-done and it shows. Everything is brand new and beautiful! Check-in was easy. We had two rooms and were able to get them right across the hall from each other. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed that this hotel was right in the middle of Canyon Village (the only place to stay inside of the National park). We were able to walk to our Pink Jeep Tour across the street. We grabbed a drink at the Saloon (bar) in house the night we arrived and had breakfast at the restaurant in the morning. Breakfast was delicious and a great value. What made it even better was that it was in-house and you didn't have to come with your whole group. You simply give your room number upon entrance and then you're good to go. I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone visiting the Grand Canyon!

Just about everything within 100 miles of the Grand Canyon pales by comparison but not the Grand Hotel! A "grand" experience in itself...spotless...friendly staff....high quality, comfortable accommodations....every amenity you need...excellent dining options....just a great place to stay.

Rude staff, would not check us in but others got their rooms because we prepaid Orbitz. Toilet broken. Beautiful room. $59 for burger and hot dog dinner

We stayed in the off season (early Feb) and got an excellent deal on the room. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were a welcome sight after hiking the Canyon.

I loved the look and cleaniness of the hotel. I forgot my ring in the room, house keeper had taken it to the front desk. Great location, great experience!

Convenient to grand canyon and pleasant stay. Steakhouse restaurant in hotel was closed.

Facility was nice, but under-staffed. Existing staff was pleasant, but not equipped to deal with the several problems that came up. Canyon Star restaurant was definately not worth the prices. The entire hotel has a lot of potential, but too many corners cut in accomodations and staffing. Very over-priced for the level of service that we received.

It was perfect hotel for our trip to Grand Canyon. The room is good size and has everything you need.

Found left overs in the fridge. all else was clean. Liked the hotel because it had a small swimming pool and spa/

Location is great, only few min from Grand Canyon main visitor center. Clean rooms, and Wild West style interior. The elevator was too busy in the morning, but I didn't matter to me I took the stairs. Somehow I was able to get good rate through Orbitz. If you try to book directly it might be pricy. Overall satisfied.

We enjoyed our one night stay at the hotel. It had a nice atmosphere and the room was nicely decorated. Some people said it was expensive but I did not feel that way as it is a short distance away from Grand Canyon National Park. I liked the convenience and was glad we choose this hotel based on other choices in the area. We where surprised how little options are in that area. Including dining. The food was not so great at the restaurant at the Grand Hotel. We thought the waiters could have been been a bit more attentive. The place was not busy either. Or next meal we choose to leave the property.

Very good time, friendly staff, good restaurant, close to everything!

Rooms were nice and large. Beds very comfortable!!

During our vacation driving through southern Utah, we made a mistake and booked a south rim hotel. Orbitz referred us to The Grand Hotel since The Grand Canyon Lodge (actually on the north rim) was full - orbitz gave us $50 to use on future booking btw. We realized this hotel was on the south rim mid-drive and 3 days before our arrival. Upon calling The Grand Hotel to try to cancel our reservation they LIED and said Orbitz would not let them cancel within 7 days of the start or our stay. 7 days? That seemed extreme. Called orbitz, they said it was 100% up to the hotel. They got the hotel on a 3 way call with us and in spite of it being high summer when they could EASILY rebook the room in a matter of hours if not minutes, they refused to even consider it. The manager of the hotel was called - wouldn't even talk to us. $400 down the drain. If this is how they treated us, how can you trust how they will treat your family?

The location couldn't be any more convenient. Very happy.

Welcoming staff, superb room and decor, very comfortable. Couldn't fault anything.

First off, they have over 100 rooms and only ONE elevator and it was out of order when we checked in. They didn't even offer someone to help us carry our luggage up to the 3rd floor. The person at the front desk lead us the further and steeper staircase from our room. The room looked very dingy for "just renovated in Jan. 2016". The lamps were unplugged. In the coffee machine was some gooey substance filling up the water reservoir. We asked them to clean it up but couldn't use it after seeing so grose in there. The internet connection/speed was awful. The front desk person not only had no idea about their own network security but responded to us as if he didn't give a xxxx. We had to try hard not to ruin our vacation because of this hotel.

We were in a room next to the maintenance room so it sounded like a loud air conditioner right next to us. Too expensive.

Overall staying here was worth it. Very close to the park entrance. There is a coffee sandwich spot near which was an added bonus!! The staff at the hotel were very friendly.

Pros: well decorated, allowed my family to check in early, nice view from balcony. Fresh coffee in the morning and snacks in the afternoon. Friendly staff. Cons: the toilet takes a long time to fill up after flushing. The front door has a gap on top so it doesn't feel fully closed. The elevator broke and no explaination was provided. The pool was clean, but not heated as advertised. Overall, very good if you want to stay close to the Grand Canyon.
