We spent 4 days here, with 2 dogs. The staff was very friendly and super helpful. They were happy to see us and our dogs, which is something you don't find everywhere. The kitchenette was awesome to have and the resort is absolutely beautiful. There are trails right outside the rooms, so we could walk them with out driving anywhere. We had a wonderful time and will be back!

My wife and I have stayed at the Red Agave Resort for many years. We have brought friends and family to stay at this unique location in the Village of Oak Creek (a short drive from Sedona off Highway 179). If you want a low key, peaceful and enjoyable place to stay... the Red Agave Resort is the place for you. If you prefer the glamour of a 5 star, fancy resort in Sedona... this is not the place for you. The Red Agave Resort is not a large facility... there are a limited number of 2 story Chalets plus several 1 story Studio units. All of the units have kitchenettes with full size frig / freezer, electric stove / oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and gas grill outside. Each unit has a different variety of kitchen items so if you're a gourmet chef, you should bring your own spices, condiments, knives, cutting board, pot holder, etc. The kitchen basics are provided which should be adequate for most people. The cable TV is standard resolution (not HD) but they do offer the PAC-12 AZ Network for ASU and U of A games which no other sports bar offers. Tracy (the manager) is friendly and very helpful. We love the pool, 2 hot tubs, nightly fire (with smores) and the gorgeous views of Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. The property is adjacent to the National Forest so hiking and biking is a few steps away. This is a PERFECT location for a wedding or other special event. We'll certainly return for another visit!

I stayed here for a week with my family and we really, really enjoyed it. We came to Sedona to hike, bike, and bird watch, so the Red Agave was the perfect place. We stayed in one of the chalets facing Castle Rock so our door was literally 30 feet from the National Forest trailhead and it hooks up with a bunch of other trails within close distance, including Bell Rock. Plus, the view was amazing! Other stuff... the kitchen had all the equipment we needed and the bed was comfortable and soft after a long day of hiking (request a pillow-top; it's like sleeping on a marshmallow). The resort common area with the fire bit is awesome as well and there is also a pool and TWO hot tubs, which means we didn't have to awkwardly share a tub with strangers like is often the case at other hotels. All that was great, but I really wanted to write this review to give a shout-out to the staff for being awesome. Tracy, the manager, was very nice and helpful with getting us set up with our stay. Cathy, the primary person we dealt with at the front desk, was just phenomenal. She was happy, enthusiastic, and she went out of her way to help us on multiple occasions. On our last evening there, the parking lot was full and she watched for when a spot close to our door opened up so we could move our car and not have to carry our bags as far the next day. She actually stood in the empty spot so nobody could take it before we got there. That is devotion to customer service. So yes, awesome place, close to adventure, with a really friendly staff. We will definitely stay there again.

this was our 2nd visit, enjoyed it both times, will probably go again. The property is ideally located with hiking/biking trail right at your front door. Management was very pleasant. Just one note of caution: I had forgotten to check the rate for dogs and was shocked to find out how much it was for just one little puppy. I found it excessive compared to other places.

Right next to trails for mountain bikers. Really pleasant pool for post ride. Weirdly unfriendly staff who seem put out for simple things (although seemingly quite common in Sedona). Larger cabins are unique and perfect for groups, although a little dingy and dark. Our group had to fight over the limited sockets. All in all, a reasonable option for the area, but more of a “resort” in the camping sense, not the luxury destination one.

Great base for exploring the area near and around Sedona. Comfortable and reasonable. Better than some of the more expensive places in the area. Family atmosphere, BBQ available. Great parking area. In summary a nice place to stay.

We had an excellent stay! You can't beat the view, the campfire was fun and complete with smores packets all ready for the kids (and adults) and very helpful staff. Our daughter accidentally left her watch behind, and the hotel called us immediately to make arrangements for its return. We easily adjusted the temp in our chalet -- no problems there. We slept comfortably and the kids loved the loft! We we're sad to leave, and agree that it was our favorite stopping our Arizona tour. For a family of hikers and campers and picky eaters, this hotel was perfect! We will absolutely stay again the next time we make it to Sedona.

You can't get much closer to the stunning Red Rocks than here at Red Agave Resort with amazing views from each room. My husband, adult daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights and would definitely return. Located in Oak Creek Canyon, it is just a short drive into Sedona, at the base of the Bell Rock with a hiking trailhead in the grounds. Facilities include a pool, 2 spas, individual gas kettle BBQs, outdoor tables and chairs, a firepit to roast your marshmallows and smores, large, fluffy white towels and quality linen. The friendly staff ensure you are settled comfortably into your studio or chalet accommodation. Full kitchen facilities are available in the chalet with a double and single bed upstairs and a double bed downstairs. Generous size bathroom with shampoo, shower gel and soaps provided. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful stay in a unique and stunning location, I very highly recommend Red Agave Resort; it is well worth the visit.

I have stayed a couple times at Red Agave ... --I love the chalets!! --I have Recommended the chalets to family ... --Could use a little more cleaning .... Poor rating due to --HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... lady at the reception was very rude. She is not polite as should be in the hospitality industry...

Had my family out there for a three night stay to plan my wedding and hit the trails in between. Stayed in one of the Chalets, was well stocked with everything we needed while there. Was nice to soak in the outdoor jacuzzi and take a swim after a day of shopping. The hosts were always warm and accommodating. Having a trailhead right on the hotel grounds was the best, access to such sweet single trek right out the door without having to touch pavement. The trail systems in Sedona are amazing and the signage is at every intersection almost like street signs. My hat is off to Sedona trail builders and mountain bikers loved riding hiline, controlled falling at its best.
