Comfort Inn & Suites El Centro I - 8

I read the reviews because they can be very helpful but in the end, the decision is yours. There were lots of comments about the establishment being remodeled. However, they are probably 80 to 90% finished. The accommodations were typical. We had problems with the TV but they were in the process of installing new TVs in all the rooms. Someone came to the room and fixed the problem. On our return visit, the lady at the desk recognized us and said, your room has a brand new TV. What we liked most of all was the fact that there were three restaurants within a 10-minute walk and no streets to cross. Our favorite was Panda Village. We frequent one near where we live in Tucson. The other restaurant was iHop. The third one, technically not a restaurant, was In and Out Burgers. It was such a relief not to have to drive around in an unknown town looking for somewhere to eat. I mentioned to the Front Desk personnel that the only thing I did not like was the fact that they did not have automatic doors at the entrance. They then informed me that the doors were a part of the remodel and they would be in within a few weeks. One final observation, if you're too tired to walk to the restaurant, then the Breakfast room opens at 4 am.

First of all, this hotel could do with better signage on the building... there are 3 similar buildings very close to each other, and it is not immediately obvious which one is actually the Comfort Inn. One sign on the outside of the lobby entrance could easily clear up the confusion. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating... it is obvious that this hotel has been here for awhile; however, having said that, there are signs of renovations and upgrading being done in the lobby and hallways. The rooms themselves are clean, up-to-date, and comfortable... our room had a brand-new Samsung large, flat-screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, and furniture that looked new (another sign that upgrades are in progress). The beds were very comfortable! The nightly rate here was less than the other nearby hotels, which makes it a good value for the money spent. The location is convenient... just off the interstate on a main street with restaurants and stores nearby. The breakfast here was as good as any in this price range, with sausage and eggs and a good variety of fresh fruits that included bananas... also, some of the best sweet rolls I have ever tasted in a hotel. Breakfast hours are the longest I can ever remember in a hotel. One big negative we noticed was the debris in the water that comes out of the faucet and accumulates in the sink... tiny dark specs that may be rust particles in the water pipes... probably not dangerous, but not very appetizing. It is probably a good idea not to drink the water out of the faucets. This hotel appears to be trying very hard to improve. Their low comparative nightly rate was the basis for the "very good" rating.

This hotel has been lost somewhere in time. I am glad to see they are trying to renovate it. I have stayed here multiple times always during business trips. The staff is by far the most accommodating and friendly staff I have encountered anywhere. The house keeping staff works hard and it shows never have a problem with a dirty room or an unmade bed they go above and beyond. On the down side like I mentioned the rooms are outdated the furniture is older the carpets have seen better years. They have a pigeon problem which is clear to anyone with a balcony. Overall though it's not a bad place to lay your head.

Having been in the hospitality business my whole adult life, I really appreciate the crew at Comfort Inn. Who doesn't like the first good impression? They are always pleasant, helpful, and make our stay easier. The rooms are clean, a well supplied breakfast, and it's quiet and convenient.

This is by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in! The are supposedly renovating the hotel but they are still renting out rooms. The hallways are not air conditioned so they are stinking hot! The furniture in the room was dated and stained. The vanity in the bathroom was broken and I was amazed it was still standing. The bath tub was stained a dull gray on the bottom and worst of all the towels were a dull gray and stained. I have never been to a hotel that did not have stain free white towels. If you want breakfast you have to go to the Best Western next door because there are no services or staff at the Comfort Inn (I assume it is the same owner). Honestly I would give zero stars if possible and not to the standard that I expect for a Comfort Inn.

What has encouraged me to take the time to write this review was the professional and friendly guest receptionist/manager who welcomed us after our long day of travel. Melissa was such a refreshing receptionist/manager. This means a lot to weary guest who just wants a decent night's rest. She was efficient and friendly. Thank you for your warm attitude. After 28 hours of travel and 6 weeks of being away from the US, we really appreciated your warm welcome. El Centro looked like a good place to cut ourtrip in half. Searched the net for a decent hotel that was pet friendly. From accommodation and its offerings, the location (right on I-8), and finally the price points we decided on Comfort Inn & Suites in El Centro. Good choice. Good location. Despite being on the freeway, it was quiet and clean. It is also close to Lucky grocery and Inn & Out.

The staff were great and always happy. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast started at 4am but I decided not to attend to about 7:30. It was the usual Comfort Inn breakfast which is ok and filling. The bad things was there was mold in the shower, the hallways needed some real vacuuming, the carpet was really dirty. The room are ok but the rest of the building needs some real TLC, cosmetic repairs and new paint. The hotel just looks tired.

Everything about this hotel is great! Best breakfast that starts at 4am and Yesenia at the front desk is always friendly and helpful. They even gave me a free upgrade to a kitchenette suite! Thank you!

I stay at this location quite a bit, and they always upgrade my room to a suite. The staff is always friendly, and the rooms are always clean. The beds are great too, lol! I would highly recommend this Comfort Inn to anyone traveling in the Southern California/Imperial Valley area.

We were in El Centro visiting family. We have stayed at this motel a couple of times in the past five or six years. We were very pleased with the reception and the cleanliness of the room. The furniture in the room was old, scratched, marred etc. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was the usual comfort affair, however they did have fresh fruit but the oranges were not quite ripe. All-in-all it was satisfactory and great bargain. Very easy on and off the interstate.
