Should wipe the walls I see traces of fluid spilled maybe wine or juice. The location is perfect if you go around the city, there’s lots of restaurants and convenient stores. There’s a resto downstairs serves wines and food. Overall I’ll recommend to family and friends. Definitely go back there.

Room clean. Paint in bathroom was overpainting in some areas to cover up. High end coffee machine but took a while to figure out. Instructions might help. Check out time was not indicated anywhere that I could see

There was a wedding the night we stayed. Next door to our room they decided to continue hanging out being loud. Called to complain and security did come to let them know but they continued just being a bit quieter. Not much sleep. Not impressed. They did take off 10% off our room, but….

I really enjoyed my stay at the Matrix Hotel. My room was impeccable and tastefully decorated, and the bed very comfortable. Appliances were state of the art too. I would gladly come back and would recommend.

The area and Edmonton downtown in general is vacant and the homelessness is all around, as a grown man it was uncomfortable walking 4 blocks to circle K. Parking is an outdoor surface lot (maybe 20 covered stalls available) but I found no stalls after 4pm on a Friday and had to park at an adjacent impark lot. Staff were unresponsive, I had to call for a new bed sheet twice as my bedsheet had what looked like oil or food stains on them. After the second call at 9pm I did not think it was coming and was getting ready to sleep in my salad dressing sheets when someone finally arrived with a sheet. I changed the sheet myself. I have stayed at the matrix hotel in the past years ago and do not remember the area to be as run down and the hotel to be as disappointing as it was this time. I am back in Edmonton next month and won’t be staying again.

Upon arrival we were notified the credit card on file would not work and we had to pay an additional $100 plus the room fees to use our debit card, we had not expected to pay out of pocket when on a medical trip for my pregnancy. After checkin we went for dinner outside of the hotel as checkin made us not want to give the hotel anymore money. Credit card worked just fine while out for dinner, we went back to the front desk and requested them to refund the room & $100 fee and to place the charge on credit card as it should have been, the front desk lady was rude and told us to have a goodnight and refused to assist more. Over our stay the hotel was very noisy, beds uncomfortable, tub doesn’t drain well when showering, small pillows, paid $600 for 2 nights an the VIP perks included 2 bottles of water and a couple pods of coffee, even basic hotels offer this.. the parking fees of $30 a night are outrageous when you already pay outrageous prices for what I would call a 2 start hotel.. super 8 provides better service Wich is sad Concidering this hotel claims they’re a VIP stay. Would not recommend.
