Holiday Inn Express Walnut Creek

I just got this hotel, because it was close to San Francisco, so you can ride the BART(bay area rapid transit) or drive. If someone prefer to drive, be ready to deal with the traffic, every highway is bumper to bumper. Plus you have to pay $5.00 At the bay bridge (toll) to enter to San Francisco.

Hotel was clean and staff very friendly. The room air conditioner was quite loud and with window open the nearby freeway sounded like a jet aircraft passing by. With window closed it was minimal. Nice breakfast and very friendly staff.

room 230 rug had quite a few stains and the chair was worn through in the arms otherwise it was fine

Furniture was stained, air conditioner wouldn't turn on. Had late check out but couldn't enjoy as they started cleaning rooms at like 8am....

Everything was great. My only complaint is with the curtains in the room. They are white and transparent, and unfortunately see through. Other than that, hotel stay was nice. Friendly staff.

Phony $2 a night charge for "tourism", which isn't stated on the bill in the least. Hotel is exceptionally loud in terms of highway noise and even though they claim to have security guards checking quiet hours starting at 10, guest noise continued past midnight, even after calling and asking them to address it. No blackout curtains with the highway on one side and a blindingly bright gas station on the other, definitely not the best place to have sheer curtains. Room keys were very unreliable. No call before letting delivery to your room. Breakfast was impressive. Staff was polite.

Convenient, clean, safe, pleasant place close to BART and the freeway, walking distance to many different dinner options.

It was okay, nothing to write home about. The rooms were clean enough, but not stocked, asked for towels and it took them over an hour to bring them.

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights on an apartment-hunting trip in Walnut Creek in May. The beds were really comfortable. The room was fine. Breakfast was as good as I expect for a standard free breakfast at a Holiday Inn. Parking in a garage under the hotel, which was nice & convenient. This is not a beautiful part of Walnut Creek, but more of a light industrial/strip mall area. On one day, we spent a couple of hours in the middle of the day in the room with the do not disturb sign out. This caused us to miss the maid service, so that was disappointing. Hotel staff promptly brought fresh linens when requested that night. The biggest problem we had was that I asked the front desk to order a taxi at 5:15 am on our check out day, and this request was overlooked. We ended up leaving 20 minutes later. We were taking BART to the airport. If we hadn't included some cushion time in our schedule, we could have had a hard time getting to the airport on time. If I were to stay here again, I would handle my transportation needs myself rather than rely on the staff.

The night staff was fantastic with my late arrival!

Met all the reviews I expected. Old facility, clean and well managed.

Very good, I enjoyed my stay, I am in a hurry if you don't accept my comments, I am gone

I stayed there for business. Stayed in other area hotels. Excellent staff that really seem to care. I was greeted with a great smile. Walking distance to several fast food restaurants and 24 Hour Fitness. They have a deal with 24 Hour Fitness where you can pay a small fee and work out there. Parking was convenient which is saying something for Walnut Creek hotels (no valets!). Bed was comfortable, lots of tv stations, Internet was fast and reliable, water was hot with good pressure, and free breakfast was good.

GREAT location, easy on and off to the freeway - a huge plus for us. Good breakfast. Carpets in our room need cleaning

Great room, the location was very convienent and close to the highway. Quiet atmosphere with a friendly and helpful staff

Front desk staff was very friendly. Several inconveniences in our 2 day stay... The one elevator was broken for one of the days . We weren't told ahead of time that there would be a fire alarm testing the morning after we arrived until we were in our rooms. Made for a somewhat stressful start to our supposedly relaxing stay. Rooms and breakfast bar were so so..except please use real cheese in your omelets and not that nasty Cheese Whiz...also I requested to have my room clean after 2:30 one day on their in room iPad and it did not happen. This stay was not worth the $450 I paid for it.

Was in the area on business and had to bail out of the dump I was in. This Holiday Inn was like Shangri La. The front desk staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room was like being on vacation, and the shower was the best (it's those little things).

spacious rooms, tiny bathrooms. nice pool and Jacuzzi. generous breakfast. good location. Down town Walnut Creek is vivid. The hotel is just 40 min drive from the Bay area. good quality/price ratio.

The hotel staff was absolutely fabulous. Room was clean and free of smoke odor (which was a pleasant surprise). It is located in a good neighborhood. I will definitely book this hotel again for my next trip to the Bay Area.

Great staff and nice room. Only thing I would change is the shower head...not good at all.
