Enjoyed spending time on the outdoor decks. Great views.

Although the property info in the fine print mentioned possible extra charges, I think in the interest of transparency the cost of parking ($16.00+ tax and tip which ended up raising the nightly charge by over $20) should be published.

The room was billed as having a view of the mountains, instead we had a view of the parking lot and HVAC for the building. One of the lamp shades in the room was missing. The hallways smelled musty. The Cafe ran out of some key menue items in the morning. We only received an offer to help with luggage after we provided a tip to the valet who brought our car around on our departure. Overall the rate for the room was overpriced for the condition of the facility and service.

This is a gorgeous hotel in a terrific location. Our family of four and our dog checked in late on weeknight. Our room was well appointed, bedding and mattresses great but, as we finally started to drift off to sleep we noticed the air conditioning unit sounded like a 747 at take off. The kids were already asleep so moving or maintenance wasn't an option. We had to pile every extra pillow on it we could find. Overall, great. Just give your AC unit a good listen at check-in as we wish we would have.

The property is very close to the University of Virginia and on the main drag with many restaurants within walking distance.

I very appreciated the uniqueness of the hotel. Attentional to detail throughout.

we Loved the quirkiness of the hotel and the location.

The hotel is perfectly located for visits to the University of Virginia. Excellent staff.

Guest rooms were spacious and well equipped. On the 2nd floor is an open area with couches and chairs to hang out, and an area with foosball, ping pong tables and shuffleboard. This is an old hotel that has been updated, so the rooms are bigger than one would expect. The restaurant on the 9th floor had good, reasonably priced food, and a beautiful view from the roof deck.

Fun hotel in a great location near the university. Very friendly and helpful staff, quirky decor and a college-like game room made our stay pleasant.

We paid extra for the “mountain view”. Skip it. We had a view of the parking lot, but if you pressed your face against the glass and looked to the right you can see the mountains. We should’ve known better, since the hotel is in the middle of downtown (great walking location!) but the pictures suggested otherwise. The room and whole hotel was decorated with great detail. Really cool furniture and accents. I was there for a girls weekend, and after a long day in the wineries we wanted to check out the game room... but we felt like we were intruding on study hall.. students using the ping pong table as a study table.
