For a place that was just opened a few months ago, there's ALOT to work on to live up to their luxury claim. We chose this hotel, as we were extending our trip for an extra day, and our current property had no vacancy. From the time we checked in, we we were ready to leave. I'll start by saying, our room was nice, so was the view. But from there, it started with 35 minutes to get our bags up to the room after check in, $130 for a guest to enter the property at any time of day, even if only for less than an hour, unannounced check ins to your room by service staff, poor in room service from house keeping (we had to call 3 times), poor in-room dining choices and loooonngggg wait times from the bellman (we ended up lugging all our own luggage down after they had surpassed their eta by 25 minutes and we needed to get to airport) There are kids running around everywhere, and while I like kids, I don't need them kicking balls into the pool and screaming loudly less than 3 feet from where I'm having lunch. The wait staff at the pool bar was not friendly and the food there mind as well just say kids menu, although tacos were delicious. Oh, and the music/entertainment at the pool is disturbingly loud like you're at a night club, but its 10a. The elevators are slow and often packed, its $60 pp to visit spa for a steam and jacuzzi, amd most of all, when we addressed the management at the hotel about all the issues, they were willing to do nothing. GRADE: F Stay somehwere else

poor customer service.really bad . elevators too slow. in 1 week...two day have to walk to 8 floor because elevators did not work.

Let me preface my review to state that I have visited this area over 30 times. I have been to Banyan Tree Mayakoba several times, numerous Excellence and Secrets resorts, Viceroy, Now, Grand Palladium, Riveria Princess, The Grand at Moon Palace, Grand Residences a few times and several other non all-inclusive hotels. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’ve been around the block, lol! I was incredibly surprised at the level of service the Royalton offers, I had no idea what I was in for. First off, anyone can build a hotel in the Hotel Zone and call it a resort. What sets this resort apart from the others, is very simple, the employees! Every employee here is special and they make your trip. From the bellman, front desk, waiters and waitresses and last but not least, The Vibe Team. They are exceptional!!! I do not know how they found such a terrific staff, but whomever did the hiring was on their game. I am grateful I had the opportunity to speak to Jorge Castro whom was the epitomy of grace and class himself, to advise him how fantastic all the employees are. I have to give a few shout outs to some very special people. Allan was our bellman and could not have been nicer. Every breakfast and lunch was spent at Gourmet Marche, most every day, Susana was our waitress, my grandson absolutely loved her and she was so kind and efficient. As we spent most of our time at the beach, Victor was our waiter. You could not ask for more, from exceptional service to never for

The hotel is new. Room is clean. Food is great. And staff is very friendly. But there are not enough chase lounges and beach umbrellas. The people go to the beach and take a places around 6 -6.30 am. It’s crazy.

The hotel is GORGEOUS! Food is amazing and the service is great. We came one week after opening so there were a few issues that hopefully they do rectify: -Elevators were very slow and most of the day only 2 or 3 elevators would actually be running. -the liquor is inconsistent: for example the lobby bar and the martini bar had excellent selections but the pool bar had no name brand liquor, even in the diamond club section. -rooftop pool: some servers gave don Julio complimentary and some servers said it was a charge Again, I know they are new so I’m sure these things will be changed. Again, food and service were amazing. Lastly, the location is walking distance from the downtown party scene which is awesome. I highly recommend this hotel. (PS any room upgrades should be done online and prior to arrival as the price to upgrade in person is much more expensive than online prices. Highly recommend the ocean view vs the sunset view which is basically the lagoon and parking lot)

Brand new, all the food is great, friendly staff. Only complaint is how humid the hotel rooms get, everything feels damp and towels wont dry inside.

All in general excellent. Just they have to work a little bit more in the ac units.
