We were greeted by an unhelpful grump at the front desk who told us on check in that the lock on our room didn't work well and to use the card key slowly. We did so and it worked the first time. The second time we couldn't get into our room. The front desk person grumpily came and opened the door by using the card key very quickly, the opposite of what he told us. To top it all off it was 95 degrees out and the AC didn't work. Don't stay here.

Room was clean, staff was nice. The heater is not working (snowing outside) thanks for the thick blankets, and the sink was not draining properly (clogged frozen probably).

For the price, it was just very low on the amenities. It's OK that the room was small, furniture was old, there were strange sounds coming out of the plumbing. The bed was comfortable. But, the carpeting was disgustingly dirty, TV didn't work properly, they ran completely out of breakfast by the time we got there at 8 a.m., supply of shampoo/soap was scant, burned out light bulb, had to call for towels at 8 pm after a busy day because housekeeping had not replaced them. Just disappointing that these important details weren't attended to.

The office manager was helpful and attractive. She provided extra towels as requested.

Our room did not look like the picture in the email I received to review this motel. Our a/c was not clean, my husband removed the filter and cleaned it. It made me nervous about the whole rooms cleanliness. They did make an attempt to update room, but it needs more work on this older section of property. The "breakfast" were burritos made elsewhere without much to them and lousy coffee. Won't stay there again.

RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS MOTEL! Go across the street to Charm, you will be glad you did! We arrived at this hotel only to find a note in the office window "back in 10 minutes". We waited 15 minutes outside in 100+ degree heat, and they never returned. I called their phone# twice, only to get their vm. I left a message 6:03pm asking them to call me. No return call. As this booking was through Orbitz, I called Orbitz to find another room. Orbitz also called this motel at 6:15, only to confirm their was no answer. Orbitz agreed that they would find another room. At 6:19 the rude person from Shasta Pines called my phone (16 minutes after I left my message, and more than 30 minutes from when we first arrived) and said there was a "fire emergency" at the motel, we're here now". I told her that we had to find another room, and she responded with "good luck with your reservation", and hung up. We went to Charm Hotel across the street, where we were treated wonderfully, and the rooms were great. Even the office staff at Charm confirmed that "somethings up across the street, staff are not around much". After our trip, and reviewing my credit card statement, I then find that Shasta Pines has charged me for 8/3/17. We had intended to stay there, but they were not available to check us in. Keep in mind, it's 100+ degrees outside. I called them today, received the same rude person on the phone and asked why they charged my card when THEY were the reason we could not stay at the

3 people stay, but had ply 2 towels,no hair conditioner, shower was not warm enough.

40 mile to lassen national park, but the burney fall is very close, only 15 min drive away. To see the fall is one of our trip's highlighter.

Dear valued guest. I want to apologize for your concerns. I am not sure that we would ever give a room out with a bad A/C or door lock. Both were checked by maintenance and found to be in fine working order. We hope to see you again.
