We stayed here for a couple of nights while attending the 13th gate. This is a very clean and very well kept hotel. The staff were all, very helpful. They don’t offer a continental breakfast but you have access to a everything you need to cook in your room. They even leave you some complimentary popcorn in your microwave. Room was good sized and had plenty of room to move around. It’s right up the road from Starbucks and within walking distance of Dons Seafood. It has super easy access to interstate as well. Overall you can’t beat the price for such a well equipped Hotel. The only complaint I had was that the people on the floor above us were super noisy, but that’s not the hotels fault. I would definitely stay here again. Keep up the good work!
My family stayed at this hotel last night. The hotel was very clean and quiet and the room was outstanding. We loved that it had a mini-sized full kitchen so that we could have breakfast before we checked out today. The beds were extremely comfortable with great pillows (not too firm, not too soft). The free wifi was fast. The hotel is within walking distance of two restaurants and there are quite a number of restaurants that don't take very long to drive. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone staying in the area.
Stayed here off and on for 3 to 10 days at a time in June and July with 8 co workers during a construction project in Baton Rouge. Minimal complaints from my coworkers. Rooms were clean. Staff was very friendly. There were a lot of dogs with guests but that seems to be more and more common in hotels. Chili's and Don's Seafood are walking distance from the hotel.
Much better than it's Lafayette counter part. The staff is mostly competent. The room didn't smell like mildew (despite being told there was considerable water during last year's flooding) they got the reservation correct. All in all a good stay.
We booked a one night stay at this hotel because we were traveling with our dog and the hotel was right off the highway. The room was clean, but sparsely furnished (only one night stand, large open space with a small TV on the other side of the room). The room was not noisy. The issues I had were as follows: 1. The hotel allows pets, but the pet walking area is approximately 10 square feet with an electrical unit in the middle of it. I thought I could go to a field in back of the hotel, but found out that was someone's front yard! The street in front is quite fast so I had to run across the street with my dog and let him go in a bank's grassy area that morning. 2. While taking my dog out, I used the stairs and exited from the side of the building. Both in the evening and the next morning, I found the door had been rigged to stay open with a small rock. (You have to use your room key to get in otherwise.) In the evening, there was a woman sitting outside smoking so I thought maybe she put the rock there. As I was coming through the parking lot, the front desk clerk ran up to me asking if I had seen a woman walking around with a milk jug asking for money. I said no and asked the clerk if there were problems. She said there have been some "solicitation" issues at the hotel in the parking lot. I told her about the door being propped open. She said she would take care of it. The next morning the door was still propped open with a small rock. I went to the front desk and apparently startled the morning shift clerk who was "vaping" and tried to wave the steam away and hope I didn't see it. Another lady came from the back. I told them about the door being propped open. They seemed completely unconcerned and said, "Oh, it's probably one of the workers." I did not feel that safety and security were a top priority at this hotel. Bottom line, we will not stay at this hotel again.
We were visiting family in town for two weeks. I was careful in choosing a hotel. We could get this efficiency suite for a little more than a basic room across the street. At some point I asked myself how many times I would seriously go down and take advantage of continental breakfast... not many we sleep late on vacation. So we chose Candlewood Suites. I prefer my own coffee anyhow. Staying for a few days, you will like to put your beverages and cold items in the Apt. sized refrigerator. A sink, two burner cooktop, & microwave round out the kitchen. The bathroom was adequate and clean. Both of our comfortable beds had four decent pillows. We both commented about the quiet during sleep. We were on the third floor and all we could hear was activity in the hall outside our room. The staff and hotel management were wonderful. They handled all our questions and an emergency medical situation professionally. The facility is clean, inside and out. Very close to some great dining... you can walk to Don's for cocktails, steak and seafood or fast food if you wish. After a couple days, we knew the staff and they knew us. Their friendly presence at the desk was a daily reminder that I selected a nice place to stay. So nice to be greeted and taken care of by staff that made us feel at home.
the photo at the Trip Advisor reservation site showed bed and couch, and indicated that it was a fold out sofa bed. [Always call property and confirm]. The room was much smaller than that in photo. My adult son and I had room with one queen bed, no couch. He slept on floor. Staff was very nice, except 3 counter staff said they would leave extra blankets, pillows, etc, to male a pallet on floor. But when we got back from wedding, night clerk had no knowledge of that. Hotel was overbooked due to baseball game, so could not get a room with 2 beds.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for our tiki tubing trip. It was 10 minutes from tiki tubing. The staff made us feel welcomed and made it feel like home! They more than accommodated our needs of a late check out at 1PM so we could recuperate for our long drive back to Monroe. The housekeeping was also excellent. I am a director for housekeeping at hospitals and I am very hard to please when it comes to cleanliness. Their staff did a great job. I recommend them completely!
Stayed here off and on for over a week due to my father being in the hospital in the area. All of the staff members, including management, were excellent and went out of their way to assist with last minute reservations, room preferences, and anything we needed during our stay. And only after 2 days they began to know us on a first name basis and asked regularly for updates on my father in the hospital. Besides the outstanding staff, the hotel is very well maintained, extremely clean, and in a great location with easy access to everything. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return when in the area.
Last minutes tickets for LSU Football game, online showed motel to have no vacancies. Call the Motel direct and they had several rooms. We were so please with the staff, the room, and the complete experience.
