Room looked like it was revamped....but as the photos show, housekeeping was lacking! Room had cobwebs, dirt on the doorframes, and the bathtub that was redone....tell me this, if you have kids, and stayed here, wouldn't you be afraid that they might pick off pieces of the covering on the tub and put them into their mouths? The room was decent, but the bathroom was NOT clean. The bed WAS very comfortable, without a doubt. The breakfast - well, it was okay, but why are they replacing the scrambled eggs with the fake "fried eggs", which resemble an egg white with yellow food coloring in the middle? These really suck, to put it bluntly. While walking outside the building, cigarette butts were in piles on the ground, from past customers standing around, smoking. Litter scattered around the parking lot. Granted, it's winter, but these things are VISIBLE! Not a real happy camper :(
Pros: clean, standard budget rooms, great free breakfast buffet Cons: paper thin walls - you can hear everything in the neighbouring rooms, making for a difficult night's sleep; poor front desk service (i.e., allowing a phone call to interrupt service without putting the caller on hold to finish serving the guest in front of them); poor attention to detail - our room had no (ZERO) toilet paper when we checked in; no elevator - fine if you don't have heavy bags, not so great otherwise.
Non smoking, clean, could definitely use a face lift. The tub was kinda gross with the coating peeling off. Found a hair in the sink wasn't mine. The supply a decent breakfast. Good central location with patio door access also. Pet friendly. People across the hall had a dog constantly whining while owners were gone. Hotel tried to call the people but they did not pick up. Felt bad for the dog. Cranked up the TV
Small 2 story, so no elevator. Those with mobility issues need ground floor. Very friendly welcoming when we arrived. Coffee tea etc available in the lobby if you want it. A large breakfast room is just off the lobby. Our room was large, the bed comfortable, the tv flat screen and great, all very clean. The breakfast was good. I smelled bacon the minute I walked out of my second floor room. Crispy and delicious. Not greasy. The usual waffles, lots of bread choices, yogurts, fresh fruit. Cooked and boiled eggs. Anyway, all we needed. The price including tax was around $92. Yes we would return.
I would say this is an average hotel in the budget class. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was decent and the maple cinnamon waffles are a nice addition to the standard waffle station. The room was small, but clean and the bed was comfortable. There was an issue with a staff member but it was handled very well and quickly by management.
I was really impressed when I came in to register and there was a line up, but Joshua got all of us through in record time. Great Job Josh . Other than that , the price was good , the rooms were clean, and I enjoyed the breakfast. I was disappointed though with the TV. When I come into a town I am not familiar with what channels they have and what programs are on and at what time. Their was no program and channel listing and the quality of the picture was terrible.
We stayed for 2 nights in the newly renovated Comfort Inn on Hart Drive in Barrie in early November. The hotel is clean, beautifully redecorated and we had a restful, quiet night's sleep in the comfortable beds. There is a huge cupboard closet and exceptionally large fridge. The breakfast was very good with cheerful staff. When we had a plumbing problem one evening an enthusiastic fellow named Josh was quick to arrive and fixed this promptly. We would recommend this well priced Hotel.
Well run comfort inn, has been refurbished, staff is extremely helpful. Convenient to the highway and to restaurants. Only issue was the strong smell of marijuana in the ventilation system in the morning. They had rented to workers who had a different idea of what breakfast was, to what we expected. Mentioned it to the manager and he seemed to be concerned about the issue.
Nice Place, Very Helpful Staff. Our room was clean and with a few upgrades. 1st Level, There is a Tim Hortons adjoining and there was free breakfast. Tea and Coffee and some cookies all day long. Nice comfortable place. No Pool. Near the Beach
The thing that really set this hotel apart was how friendly and helpful the staff were. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to trouble shoot problems, suggest ideas and generally assist. As I was travelling on my own and was experiencing a range of issues with hire cars, finding locations and other stuff, this really made a difference to my stay. Because everyone was so lovely it made the place feel very welcoming. The hotel itself was nice too, recently refurbished with just about everything you'd need on site. Clean and in a good location within about 20 / 25 mins walk of the centre of Barrie. Breakfast is included, along with 24 hour coffee, and was a good mix of waffles, cooked items, cereal, yoghurt, fruit and toast. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the area, particularly those travelling solo. Top tip for dinner or lunch - head into downtown and visit the Flying Monkeys Brewery. It was awesome!
