We stayed at this hotel for 1 night in a pet friendly room. Room was fine but very noisy being near an entrance. Upon arrival we were told there would be absolutely no late checkouts.. that hotel was sold out next day. Front desk staff should do their homework because every room type was available to book on line the next day. Why lie to your guests? We asked again the next morning and mentioned that all rooms types were available to book online.. They said they'd book another night for us - no problem ... Oh.. so I can book another night.. but I can't check out an hour or 2 later?? I have stayed in most hotel chains and never been denied a late check out. I will probably never stay at a Holiday Inn ever again. It's not good business to lie to your guests. I'll stay elsewhere next time my family visits Sudbury.
Stayed here for three nights with a group of students taking a geography course. The rooms are recently renovated and modern. Everything is clean and quite spacious. What really makes this hotel special is the amazing staff. Stephanie and Sue were incredibly helpful and always provided plenty of great advice about the area. Aaron also went out of his way to help everyone in the group. The breakfast has plenty of options and was open late which is nice. Definitely will return next year.
We stayed in a room with two queen beds - it was clean, spacious and nicely laid out. There was no bath tub - shower only so if that's an issue for you, you should know that upfront. Check in staff was very friendly and professional upon arrival. We had a somewhat odd and awkward experience with cleaning staff. Just after 9 am we heard a knock on the door calling out "housekeeping". As I went to answer the door, it was unlocked by the staff who were startled and apologetic to see us there. Check out is not until 11 so I am not sure why they'd be so shocked to find the room occupied. Not 10 minutes later, a completely different cleaner knocked on the door! On both occasions staff were courteous and apologetic and encouraged us to take our time but we couldn't help but feel rushed after the second time. Normally, we'd place a do not disturb sign on our door handle but there wasn't one in the room. The pool was closed for maintenance which was somewhat disappointing but I know these things cannot be helped. We didn't dine in but the hotel is in close proximity to many restaurants which was ideal.
We arrived for check in, the front desk staff probably hasn't been doing his laundry for a while, since it smells really bad during the checkin process... Forgot my slippers, asked for one time use hotel slippers, they don't have it... As for the breakfast, we were served by 2 different ladies. They were very rude. We asked for extra water, and she told us to get it ourselves behind the counter... We waited a very long time to be served. I was about to get up and eat outside. There was a hair in the toilet and on my bed sheet, not very enjoyable stay, doubt the overall cleanliness of the place and the staff weren't enjoyable.
We had the pleasure of staying here during our travels for my husbands football game. It was a very well maintained building. The staff were wonderful to us and the morning brunch was the best I'd ever had for a hotel breakfast. Would stay here again any time if we are ever back to this city.
I stayed for 4 nights at holiday inn in Sudbury. The room was spacious and clean. The ensuit washroom was renovated and very clean. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. I went there for a business and planning to go back for future visits!
Very comfortable beds and rooms were very clean. The restaurant was a nice surprise because you get kids eat free vouchers and food was delicious! We had both dinner and breakfast. No complaints at all!
Typical good Holiday Inn conveniently located off the hwy for travelers. Spacious rooms and good level of comfort. Rooms are clean. Hotel hallways and main areas look tired, and carpets dirty. But overall not bad at all. Pet friendly. No hassles.
Better off staying somewhere else. Front desk staff claimed that the hotel was renovated "a couple of years ago", but it would seem that it has been much longer than that. I will not stay here again until this hotel has been updated and there customer service improves. I called to inform them that I was going to be checking in late and arrived at 11pm as I was working in the wee hours of the morning. I simply asked for a 1pm checkout and was denied. I have stayed at other Hotel chains including other Holiday Inn locations in other cities, under the same late check in scenario and have been given 2-3pm late checkouts. Once it was 4pm. Poor customner service at this Holiday Inn in Sudbury.
Clean, comfortable room. Shower only - no tub. Refrigerator in room. Restaurant on site. Room service, as it usually in most hotels, overpriced. I was impressed by the front desk staff - one young man in particular who knew me by voice and face when I called the front desk with a question not long after I had checked in!
