Nice old history building...with nostalgic decorations inside.

Need massive renovation of rooms; carpet was awful. No refrigerator, no coffee or snacks/ food available except to Chateau guests. Minimal food menu selection and overpriced.

Really quaint old-fashioned lodge in a quiet location. Great staff.

The hotel is good. It is clean and big. it is a walking distance at Lake Louise. But, they dont have much facilities like T.V, microwave or fridge. Out of all the the 3 star hotels that i booked, this is the most expensive one, and yet it didn't reach my expectations.

It's a very old rustic lodge with paper thin walls. The floors creaked everywhere you stepped. My first initial reaction walking in was "no tv?" but it was nice to not have any distractions. Their bed was so comfortable, the room was warm, and we had warm water. I don't know if I would stay there again but overall it was a good experience.

So close to Lake Louise- great way to avoid the crowds. Property is old and quaint. Room was tiny but bed was so comfortable. Great restaurant

Location is excellent. Older facility. No TV, Radio or in room refrigerator

Location was great. Staff is friendly. However the facility definitely needs updating

Nice lodge. Very warm and comfortable, however finding our way around was a bit confusing. The hot tub was great, once we found it.

A constant loud clanging in the pipes (?), made for a terrible night.

Very comfortable quite hotel in the mist of large crowded area

The hotel was charming with a lot of character. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The rooms were small but really that’s all we needed. We did not stay at the hotel much because we were out hiking and exploring the park. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk away from the beautiful Lake Louise and hiking trails. It is about 50 minutes from the city of Banff where we ate dinner most nights and visited the hot springs and other hiking trails. My only complaint about the hotel is you can hear just about everything from the room- people in the hallway, doors opening, people outside rolling luggage. The dining was good but a little overpriced, but so was everything else in the area. I would recommend this hotel to someone looking to go to Banff.

This hotel was amazing. We absolutely loved it. I was frustrated to read about people complaining about the lack of amenities, air-conditioning, or television. Lodges in National Park (Canadian or American) are often over a hundred years old. They are fascinating pieces of architecture with rich history, design and backstories everywhere. The restaurant was a fine experience. Great porch/service. It's a neat menu. Yes it is a bit costly, but that is just going to happen with the location. Our hotel had a nice view, and it truly is a five minute walk to the lake. For my group, we couldn't put a price tag on being able to wake up, take our coffee to the empty Lake and enjoy the sunrise. It's so neat to see Lake Louise nearly empty as the second it hits 8 am all the way until dark, it's packed. So, if you are the type to complain that it "needs updating"/"felt old" this is not the place for you. Go stay in a Holiday Inn Express and bus in to the parks. NOTE: The hotel is made of 3 sections. The newer section has rooms very nice, large, clean and more like a traditional hotel. (No TV or Air conditioner. But that isn't such a bad thing.) TL/DR: If you love unique places with a great history, walking distance to one of the greatest views in the park (not to mention all the wonderful hikes) you will LOVE this lesser known gem - just make sure you know that when you stay here, you're getting the "whole experience."

Old but charming hotel. Probably second best hotel in town.
