The room was dated but we only used the room to sleep so we didn't mind. Suite was equipped with what we needed and check in/check out and parking was a smooth process overall. Hotel is a 5 min drive from downtown Banff close to restaurants and grocery stores.

It was good they gave us free Roam bus tickets to roam around Banff and the room had a lovely leafy aspect towards the forest. However the room was quite dated and cleaning of the room could have been much better. We tried to use the oven one night but it was locked and we needed a maintenance person to unlock it!

We received free bus passes from the front desk for our stay, which was great but unnecessary as we found Banff to be very walkable from the hotel. The view from our balcony was some beautiful trees, as well as an amazing mountain view.

Really enjoyed our stay at Douglas Fir! We were given a bus ticket for our stay which meant it was super easy to use the ROAM buses to get into and around Banff. Our room was dated but kitted out with everything we needed and the balcony was a nice bonus - we even saw a herd of elk passing by one evening!

We wanted to turn on the fan, but it was covered in dust as was the mini split. Very dirty. Very nice staff and his others have said quite in need of renovation. Would not stay again.
