Amazing definitely a must stay

The hotel was historic and beautiful! The staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were very comfortable. I am very pleased with my stay!

Such a beautiful place to stay. It was very clean and the staff was super friendly as my daughter and friend went ghost hunting at night.

The history of the hotel drew me in, but my stay was not comfortable and it was very inconvenient to valet the car at night. The beds were lumpy and clearly many years past their prime and usability- the beds dipped in the middle and hurt my back, despite putting a pillow to try to even out the severe dip. In addition, the front desk didn’t let me know that roads would be blocked off at night. I spent at least an hour circling the hotel trying to find a way back to the hotel valet. Even the front desk wasn’t helpful when I called to ask how to get through the blocked areas.

Gorgeous interior! Especially during the holidays. The staff was amazing, we’ll definitely stay here again on our next visit

The Driskill makes a better tourist stop than a hotel to stay in. The building is beautiful and cared for but in true to age fashion but the hotels accommodations don't match the price tag. This had not been my first choice of hotel but was what I ended up with in a sold out weekend. My bigger issues were with customer service. While the hotel staff were all very friendly, I had major issues with billing that started at checkin. My reservation was pre-paid and when I gave the front desk my credit card for incidentals the staff member ran my card for the entire amount of the stay, almost $3,500. I explained this to the staff and they attempted to fix it, however the funds were still locked up for the entire weekend. More so, the next morning there was a new charge for almost $900 when the incidentals hold should have been around $250. The issues did not stop as they were unable to stop their nightly reconciliation system from attempting to charge my card for anywhere from $2,500-5,500 each night for the duration of my stay. It wasn't until the morning of my checkout that they determined that was the issue and had just been apologizing with no explanation each of the prior days. I checked out with an incidental bill of around $40. When I got home, I was surprised to see that I had a settled charge on my card for around $860. I called the hotel for an explanation and they let me know that the first night they had actually refunded my card $3500 and were trying to re-collect.

Bar and restaurant closed Monday & Tuesday. Rooms are small and a little tired. Downtown area near the hotel needs a good cleaning - too many pan-handlers/homeless.

The hotel was beautiful and the room was very nice. We were supposed to stay two nights but there was a fire started in one of the hotel rooms which caused us to have to evacuate the building and have no power when we returned to out room.

I did NOT like the smell of the place, it was old, so I understand it, but it was very pungent and strong smelling—in the lobby and in our room.

I don't know if its Covid related or just general service but we felt like the service lacked serious attention. We stayed 5 days, 4 nights - part of our group in the Cattle Baron Suite and part (us) in a regular room in the newer tower. NEVER did we receive fresh towels, toilet paper, toiletries, clean glasses, a freshen up etc... There was no service at all. The ice was located in only one location throughout the hotel. While the staff seemed friendly no one was in any particular hurry to help when or if needed. I think the final disappointment came when we went to the front desk to drop 4 postcards to be mailed. (keep in mind we have been there for days and spent many many thousands of dollars between our group). No stamps. No mail. No help at all. It just felt like sad, like no one really cared to give an effort to say"yes". We hoped for "extra".... but overall, the service and staff were a disappointment. The hotel itself was a treat- all the hauntings, history and ghost stories did not disappoint. But the ghosts are the only ones who care if you are there or not.

Liked the ornate interior and exterior of property.

Great location! Beautiful hotel with so much history. Staff is very attentive and drinks and food are great! Will definitely return!

Lovely, historic and in a great location. They could use a bit of work with their elevators in that they take so long to arrive and are finicky. But, it is a historic structure and wonderfully over the top in the cowhide decor in the lounge.

Beautiful property, but very short staffed. We had to wait 45 minutes for our bags to be brought up. We tried to eat dinner in the bar but it seemed that they did not have enough staff, we had to wait 15 + minutes to get our check. Room service wasn’t much better, we waited 45 minutes for milk and cookies!

This is a gorgeous historic hotel with all the modern comforts without compromising the historic beauty of the building. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Allowed for early check in since our room was ready and offered to keep our bags after checkout. Would highly recommend this gem to anyone wanting to check out Austin. Oh, and location is perfect for downtown.

Thank you for your response. We're sorry to hear about your experience at our property. We do our best to keep the hotel safe and clean for all of our guests and do not allow any solicitors of any type on property. As a property located in a downtown area, there are some parts that may not be as nice as others but again, in our hotel, all of our guests are safe and we will always prioritize the safety & comfort of our guests. Thank you again for your feedback. Have a great day!
