OMGOSH, Why didn't I listen to the poor reviews? I guess I thought those people were being picky and there were other good reviews. So, I spent a couple weeks emailing an events person because I'm planning a group trip for Fall 2020. THEN, convinced that this WAS THE PLACE, I decided it's better to be safe than sorry and I flew in to make sure. Thank goodness I did. Check in - no one explained the layout, restaurant options. I didn't notice at the time, only when I was wondering around later seeking a place to eat. My room was a bit of a haul and ok. Nothing special. A little run down, a couple places not as clean as I'd have liked, dressing left in mini fridge (GROSS). The rooms do not have mini bar (which is fine, but FYI). I then went to the fitness center which was newly renovated... it's fine, but not exactly pretty and again, I hadn't been told where to find it but luckily I could follow signs and made it there. After that it was late and pool service was finished so I tried to get a bite and drink on the patio. After 5/6min I checked to make sure there was service where I was sitting and I was assured someone would be right over. 20 minutes later, someone came by. Until then there was not a hello, no water, nothing. Granted, I didn't go asking for help a 2nd time because I was checking the hotel out for my event and was curious how long this could go on. Great experience with server an a cocktail at upstairs bar overlooking the beautiful grounds. THEN, I sent to the patio at the bar/restaurant and waited 23 minutes!!! NOT KIDDING!! for someone to come wait on me. After this wait, I got up, found the person waiting on the table next to me, asked who was waiting on my table and was then finally helped. Drinks and food were good after the ridiculous wait so at least there's that. No apology, no manager stopping by after I told the server how long I had waited, NOTHING. So, the next morning, I let my event person know I'd be checking out instead of spending the weekend checking out the hotel for my event. I was super disappointed and didn't have a plan B. I drove downtown Austin with suitcase in rental car looking for other options and no idea where I'd stay but I knew I needed to leave as I couldn't hold my event there. I feel like they wasted my money and my time and didn't really care at all. :(
The first time we stayed at this property it was amazing. Now that the property has been completely remodeled and doubled in size it is incredible. This is a secluded retreat well worth the visit. Truly relaxing, family friendly, a great place to get away. The addition of the infinity pool overlooking the 18th hole on the golf course is sublime. Service at this Omni property is unrivaled.
Where to start.....Room was not as described and booked via your website. I quested front desk after we checked in. The young lady admitted it was wrong on the website, but wouldn’t do anything to correct! STRIKE 1 I put the front desk behind me as this was a family get away. The pool: there are three of them with nice accommodations (chairs and umbrellas), but the little to no food and beverage service was alarming. After several attempts one nice waitress stopped and admitted under staffed and others not getting on the clock until after lunch. So, was kind enough to take our order, only positive so far. After another hour of no service I called the front desk to complain and speak to a manager. Unfortunately, the young lady at the desk was clueless of how to proceed. I told her that she needs to either inform a manager or connect me to one.....all I got was about 15 “Ums”. Well that worked somehow because within the next 30 minutes Mangers (suits to business casual) were surveying the pool and actually waiting/bussing (not the suits). STRIKE 2 The thing that really irritated me was the fact that the hotel offers just two convenient (by the front door) handicap parking. The hotel does not offer those who are in need but they park their golf carts, shuttle golf carts for valet and the hotel suburban. All other resorts in the Texas Hill Country (Hyatt’s and Marriott) offer complimentary valet to those in need instead of using the spaces for hotel staff connivence. I question a valet staff and he replied if they are occupied you have to pay $38+ Per-night even if the hotel is using them for their shuttles. REALLY STRIKE 3 Hopefully the management can be retrained as they are clueless of what is going on or they just have No Idea on how to run a resort. In addition, the lack of information about the resort (map, things to do and places to eat) in the room about the property was a joke!!!! I called “zero” to ask about an in room book or pamphlet that told us about the resort. I was told that this was a full service resort and just ask me. Issue was that she was overwhelmed by calls and had to call several times to get through. Seems ridiculous not to have any resort info available in the room,AS THE INFORMATION ON YOUR WEBSITE IS HIGHLY INACCURATE. Think twice about this place.
We loved every minute of it. The hotel is perfect; the entertainment and fireworks out on the back lawn was a great surprise, the rooms are so so quiet; the bed was the best comfort. The hotel was exceptional and the Spa personnel and the spa itself was amazing. Both were so clean and organized and the amazing views!!. I cannot say enough.good. I was very impressed. The food was great and the restaurants were spotless and the food was so good. The best part was the people - literally everyone was kind and helpful and seemed to be always there when needed. I have not had a more perfect experience in a very long time and of course, it was about everything being done well but the people were the best. It was a wonderful experience and we will return.
The renovation is very nice, staff is pleasant. Restaurants were so-so.. I mean you have Bob's (not a big deal if your from Dallas), I counted 3 "restaurants" and a coffee shop $$$.. meh. Bar drinks are pretty pricey even for a resort - but well made! Our trip was very enjoyable and the pools are great.. great views, great pool service. Major downer was the complete foul ball on staff knowing directions to the golf courses... Canyons is 5 min away...But staff led us on a miss direction "3.94 mi. left on Bee Cave" (?)... where this came from I don't know.... cost us an hour of calling and googling. 2 phone calls to the desk and no one knew - stopped at the cc and all was made clear.... odd, but it is a new staff. anyhow made it to Canyons after leaving an hour early - we arrived with 5 min to spare.. to rushed.... Manager did nothing but apologize.... dead end. Valet guys are the best... Best of staff and they're contract. New place, new staff and a few kinks... Still the place to go for golf. Spa is unnecessarily $$$.. Really needs an adult only pool. Don't want to sound cheap, because I'm not, I feel it's just a little over priced right now..
Stayed here for Fourth of July weekend and had a wonderful time. Resort is updated nicely. Three pools and a great hill country view. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Great air conditioning system! A few minor hiccups on service but many employees are new and are trying very hard. Always eager to make it right. Please add another bartender at the pool. Will definitely be back!!
Not sure about the major remodeling. The pools were lack luster and while the expanded the pools (from 1 to 3), there is still no adult only pool. Also there is limited selection on restaurant menus-except Bob's
The resort itself was really lovely. The renovations were done really well, the rooms were beautiful, the views were great, and everything was really clean, new and nice. However the service was really lacking from the front desk prior to even checking in and during our stay, to the restaurants, as well as the pool. I'm not sure if it was a new staff, or if they were still working out some kinks having just opened, or if the July 4th weekend was just busier than expected. All things considered, we had an enjoyable time, but when paying for a resort like this, I do expect a bit more as it relates to service.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, Golf course conditions were perfect, although the greens were very fast. We are amateurs not pros. Scenery around the resort is beautiful. I would recommend this resort to friends and family.
It was our family trip over the July 4th weekend. We had great time Staff was very courteous. Location an views were amazing. Enjoyed the amenities. Great place to take a time off and relax with family. Highly recommend this location. Does get little busy at the pool area.
