There are many airports servicing flights to Germany, the five biggest being the Frankfurt International Airport (FRA), the Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC), the Dusseldorf International Airport (DUS), the Berlin-Tegel International Airport (TXL) and the Hamburg Airport (HAM). FRA is the busiest, and serves as a hub for Germany’s flag carrier, Lufthansa, as well as Condor Flugdienst. FRA features many accommodations to serve its huge amount of passengers to and from flights to Germany. The Sky Line people-mover in Terminal 2 provides quicker connection between terminals, and the Squaire is one of the largest office buildings in the country, built right at the airport. FRA also has a first-class exclusive terminal to speed high-rollers or business travelers to their destinations around the world.
Germany Weather
The best times to schedule flights to Germany are April to June and September to October. These are when the weather is usually warm and pleasant. In fact, any time can be enjoyable, but these are considered the best. If you want to take advantage of lower fares and hotel rates, visit during the fall, except Oktoberfest in Munich when the rates are much higher. You can also enjoy lower rates in the winter months due to fewer crowds—the exception is December, which draws a large number of international visitors each year.
Getting Around Germany
The Germans are very good at getting people efficiently from one location to another. Germany has a world-class transportation system by road, air, and rail— all well-maintained. They also have outstanding public transport systems within the cities, such as the U-Bahn and S-Bahn in Berlin. These high-speed trains have a good reputation for cleanliness, punctuality, safety, and comfort. All trains are modern and fast, and the network of transport is complex and varied. People visiting on flights to Germany can also rent a car if they so desire in any major city. Germany has its famous autobahn highways, which are coordinated motorways with no general speed limit, making automotive travel fast and adventurous.
