It was our second stay in this hotel and we were not disappointed. Very clean, nice room with coffe facilities. Again, very good breakfast and helpful staff. There was no problem with getting additional pillows. We would be back as its location is also very convenient for the sightseeing/shopping.
The staff were friendly and helpful, very patient with all my questions. The food was good, breakfast ok. The hotel is located conveniently near a metro station, and some attractions nearby. The room is clean and the hotel ambiance overall pleasant.
We spent 3 nights at this hotel. Its a nice clean hotel. The beds are good and the rooms are quite. The breakfast is excellent! Staff is friendly and there is a bar where you CSN play cards and have a drink in the evening. The location is good, close to the U2 subway line. You can walk to the Fernsehturm and Alexanderplatz.
Nice hotel with a nice front desk staff. Location is ok with city centre walking distance away. The restaurant was quite average I thought but for breakfast it was excellent. Our room had a double bed plus fold out sofa bed for the kids.
A super location readily accessible on foot to the city and museum island. Nice clean rooms, equipped as you would anticipate from a Novotel. The room was clean and the maid service good for the stay. The staff were friendly, and despite the early arrival the room was ready.
Just stayed here on a family for 3 new nights. Room was a squeeze with two double beds but worked out fine as we were out sightseeing all day. We didn't use the catering facilities as we found great place for evening meals and breakfast within a couple of minutes walk. Really well placed. We parked our car in the secure underground car park and walked or used the local U Bahn station, again approx 5 minutes walk. Try the restaurant by the U Bahn and also seek out Cappucino or the local bakery/cafe on the corner of the same road.
Don´t get me wrong, Novotel Berlin Mitte is a quality-hotel with lot of benefits: cleanliness, good beds, renovated rooms and superb breakfast. But on the other hand, there were minor things that left me little disappointed: sink´s sewer didn´t work properly, below our window at the backyard were two noisy aggregats and the service attitude at the reception counter coud have been friendlier.
At check in, my wife and I were a bit early so our room wasn't ready. We had to drop our luggage off before heading out to tour the city a bit, which wasn't a problem. We were just getting to know the city and we couldn't find a restaurant that we wanted to eat at in the immediate vicinity of the hotel so we went back to the hotel restaurant. The food was really good and the service was okay but it was a shock to struggle with the language barrier. I can understand having a language barrier in the city at a restaurant but not in a hotel in a country famed for speaking better English than any non-native speaking country. The food was expensive in comparison to what you can get in the city center. The location of the hotel is probably better for business than travel. The city center is nearby and Berlin is pretty spread out so this hotel is just fine for business or travel but there are more centrally located hotels for tourism at the same price point and I'd probably choose those over this next time. The rooms are nice and clean and we slept well. The special boutique rooms have me curious as we just stayed in a standard room. We did not get an upgrade for being an Accor Gold. The Internet connection was pretty good and the workout facilities were okay but not great. The weights are lacking. It's more cardio and open space to get a workout in. There are grocery stores nearby so if you want something lighter for breakfast than the buffet, that's an option. At the end of our stay, we had some issues getting in touch with our rental car company and the front desk was very helpful with that. There was nothing special here but also nothing really bad so that's why I've given it a 3/5.
Location: about a 25 min public transportation trip from Berlin HBF (took the U55 to Mahrenstrause, and then the U2 to Spittelmarkt). There's NOTHING in the area though. You're on museum island which I suppose is fine if that's the center of your visit, but to get to the East Side Gallery, Brandenburg Gate, zoo, etc. you have to get on the U or S Bahn. Other major problem is there's no food in the area other than the restaurant cafe or some super touristy spots across the Spree to the north. We had to travel pretty far to find dinner - which ended up being ok because it took us to less touristy areas of the city - but it wasn't good for two hangry travelers. Room: clean, bigger than most european hotels, air conditioned, bathroom had shower and tub. Bed was comfy, felt like memory foam. Expensive mini bar, but free in-room coffee. Hotel restaurant: didn't have breakfast but lunch was good. Expensive, but for a food desert it was worth it!
From check in to Check out our whole stay and experience was smooth and efficient. The perfect combination of German effectiveness and the Accor brand standards! Rooms are exactly as advertised, all amenities are there and WiFi works perfectly. Breakfast service is simple but ok, reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Perfect rooms for families.
