Berlin hotels

Throughout its history, the city of Berlin has been through a lot, experiencing waves of demolition and renovation during its tumultuous evolvement. The result is a city that never stops changing and growing. For visitors it offers a great combination of historical sites, cultural attractions and an energetic social scene. Hotels in Berlin range from pay-per-night traveler's hostels (some of which offer excellent value for money) to comfortable mid-range hotels and high-rise apartments.

Berlin quick picks and tips
Conventions

The Internationales Congress Centrum Berlin is numbered amongst the largest conference centers in the world, and is used for events from live music to ballet, sports, arts and comedy.

Dining

Berlin is a huge city with an excellent selection of restaurants such as the HackescheHofe, in an enormous renovated courtyard area.

Major Point of Interest

A great start for a Berlin outing is the Reichstag building and its glass dome, from which most of the city's major landmarks can be seen. The lines are long and security is comprehensive, but worth it.

Shopping

Berlin has countless stores, independent, designer and vintage. Alexanderplatz is a great place to start, as this transport hub offers easy access to most of the major shopping areas and is close to several Berlin hotels.

Sports

Hertha BSChas recovered from its less than prestigious past and has become one of Germany's premier football teams. The city is also home to the Berlin Capitals and EHC Eisbaren Berlin ice hockey teams, which are becoming more popular with the locals.

TITANIC Chaussee Berlin

A fabulous hotel in many regards with one or two minor areas for improvement. It's got a beautiful bar and a gorgeous pool, though, the pool/spa area charges for admission. Would be better if this was a one time fee over the course of your stay as opposed to an additional charge with each visit. The room decor is impeccable and the bathrooms are just as lovely. I miss the shower already! It's the kind of hotel where you want to unpack all of your things into the drawers and just pretend like you live there for a few days. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to a friend. It is very conveniently located to the U-Bahn (subway transit system). There aren't a lot of media options with the TV and on-demand content isn't offered. We couldn't figure out how to mirror our devices or add English subtitles so that left us with BBC World news as in-room entertainment. Not important to everyone, I know, but a few more options for non-German speakers could be nice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Select Hotel Berlin Gendarmenmarkt

Nice stay for our 2 night stay in Berlin with our daughter. Location was great...close to Check Point Charlie, subway and so much more. Only thing that would have been nice is if the air conditioned worked better in our room and the draft beer in the bar didn't go out. We learned in Europe they are not use to the heat that we experienced there in July and many places don't have air conditioning.
